HLascelles has a spectacular aura about
Sogay Website requirement for Ad Networks?

As someone new to the affiliate business I have been a little confused by the mandatory requirement all the quality networks have of owning a website. For one, if one is just starting out, he probably wouldn't have a reputable website running. Secondly, if one intends to promote via social networking, adsense, or other means, he may never intend to create a website or have no use for one. Finally, if the point of being an affiliate is to spend your own money to advertise for merchants, why would they need to see a website that identifies my "business"? (Which I don't have.)

Is there a way around this? Do I absolutely need to create a website before applying to these networks, and if so what kind of content should be on it? I've read a thread in this forum where a few people said they normally apply with an irregularly-updated blog featuring content that has nothing to do with affiliate marketing, which only makes this requirement seem all the more arbitrary. If anyone could offer some advice on this matter, I'd appreciate it a lot.

Thanks!

I have sent most of my networks to a domain with nothing but a little logo and a "coming soon" blurb. Only had one network reject me because of it (Neverblue)

If nothing else just create a quick blog in a niche you would actually like to develop. Throw up 10 or so post and use that.

greatcontent has a spectacular aura about
I have gotten in using Metasearch Search Engine - Search.com

just put in that you want them to call you and that you only do PPC marketing and don't want to show your landing pages. I have only had Azoogle actually ask me to show one.
