Hey everyone, first post here, just wanted to say hi and introduce myself.
My name is Lee, I'm brand new to this career path and am happy to have finally found one of those really genuine communities that you only seem to find after sifting through the fake bullshit everywhere else. I have already read many of the stickies here and I'd like to say thanks for all the great info so far! I'm really trying to get a handle on which area of online marketing I would be best suited to and focus on. I'm a pretty experienced web designer by career and currently freelance. I'm also a programmer by Uni degree though I don't do that as a career. I also have my own hosting reseller account, so I'm fairly set for the technical stuff. I really like the more techy stuff, especially SEO even though my knowledge is basic and mostly whitehat. I'm not much into writing BS content like blogs though. I guess my question is, if you started out with this skillset, where would you aim? I keep reading about all kinds of different styles and jargon and I'm unsure where to focus my reading. Anyways, thx for any opinions anyone has, and I look forward to being a meaningful part of this forum. cheers guys. |

If I were you, I'd start by analyzing landing pages..
Landing pages are the primary "pre-sell" mechanism of affiliate marketing. Familiarize yourself with landing pages. Technically there is usually not much to them. Sometimes the most amateurish ones do the best. Hang out in the design and development area. The best way to get along here is to try to contribute. |
