Some of those shouldn't be too hard once you get some external links. If you do some wikipedia style interlinking to your other posts you should be able to at least start showing up for some of them.

I don't know if there's a WP plug-in that will do that for you but there might be.

In hostgator look at 'awstats' it gives you key phrases / keywords etc

Make sure you have signe dup to google analytics, in there where you 'grab' the tracking code. In that code it self will be soem thnk like 'UA-XXXXX' (XX = numbers). Enter THAT in the plugin and it will work.

Get some pictures on there. Get rid of the WP footprint in the footer. Get some pictures on there. PM Red_Virus for some social bookmarking work, you'll see some pretty quick results if you pick the right keywords. Get some pictures on there. Adjust your sidebar via widgets to get rid of the 'Blogroll' and 'Meta' shit. Get some pictures on there.

Thanks for the help. I took all your advice and finnally figured out how to edit the footer and sidebar.

Day 8 Summary:

-Added 2 articles
-Added one post
-Edited the footer to not have the "powered by wordpress link"
-Fixed the sidebar by taking out Meta and Blogroll
-Added an image to every Page, will start adding images (and possbily videos) to the posts.
-99 visits to my site yesterday.

-When will I start ranking good for my keywords?

Ranking for keywords can take months. My advice would be to not worry about the traffic you are getting now, but continuing to build links. You will see a pay off in the future, even if you can't see it right now.

-Finding backlinks is hard......I'm gonna have to pay for a service or something because doing it free is near impossible.

Questions Still Lingering in my brain:

-Should I add anytype of ads on my site for extra revenue (even bidvertiser or clickbank ads) or just not do it at all?
-Should I add a "reviews" category for 20+ products relating to fitness and giving 5/5 stars for products I wanan promote and not so good ratings for products that sucks? Basically how do I monetize without looking like I'm blatantly trying to get the visitor to buy something?

- Yep add an image per post helps 'SEO' wise if done properly; I suggest you grab this plugin (SEO Friendly Images - Wordpress Plugins) to help you out a bit.

- Reviews keep them legit as much as possible; I mean my review on blog comment demon (http://thenexus.tk/blog-comment-demon-review/) is pretty negative, I gave it 1/5, yet people still buy it from my links!

-Signed up for Amazon and Ebay affiliate program. I plan to create an e-store with exercise equipment and other fitness related items. I am also gonna create an exercise directory for my site so I can bring in more content.

I'm trying to add a store to my website. I have been accepted by Amazon Associates.

I designed the store to have basically every fitness item alive and was given this code for the Inline frame:

<iframe src="6packnow.net Store - Exercise Equipment" width="90%" height="4000" frameborder="0" scrolling="no"></iframe>

I have no idea how to use it in Wordpress. I googled forever. Anyone know how to do this? I think I have version 2.7.1 of wordpress

-Added a post to the my blog section.
-Started up an exercise directory and added 2 posts to that. Also monetized the posts with Amazon banners. It fits very well into the post.
-55 visitors yesterday, I'm slowly gaining visitors.
-Added 2 links to wikipedia on my site......see how long that lasts.

-Should I link my site to others that are like my site and ping with them or is that a bad idea because of competition?

Last time I checked Wikipedia backlinks do not help from an SEO perspective - they are set to NOFOLLOW.

However, they obviously still help drive visitors.

eh at least my site is getting visitors. I added a cool plugin today.

How are you tracking visitors? The numbers are probably a little skewed since you're posting the link on here, no?

I started off with a get fit blog too at the beginning of the year. Wasn't doing it to monetize, it was more to keep myself accountable and get a feel for the online world (plus losing 20lbs and actually getting the six pack helped too!). It helped me big time and what I learned helped me with the sites I'm doing today. Keep it up! I still add to it every now and then. It ranks pretty well with google, maybe I'll overhaul it to promote an offer.

Day 15 Summary:

-Broke 100! Yesterday I had 118 visitors. Alot are coming from my wikipedia backlinks
-First visitor from a keyword. Someone searched "famous ectomorph athletes" and my website is on the bottom of the first page of Google for that keyword.
-Still no sales (this could be a LONG time) however someone did click my store yesterday; I'm having this tracked. Looks like they put some stuff in the cart and then didn't checkout.
-This dude Mike keeps commenting on my page and putting his link. I keep editing it.......
-Added 2 articles
-Over 50 pages of content now.

Might want to consider looking at your presell some more. On my SEO site I was seeing 1 in 20 visitors converted (although I wasn't selling products) and even think thats considered low. Theres so many products in your store, you're the expert - promote a product in your store through your articles.

I'm no expert, but looking at your site it is hard to see your links. I was actually looking for an affiliate link and had trouble finding it. The overall layout looks great, but you may want to consider making the links more visible and stand out from the page encouraging people to click through to them aside from the store.

Great thread though, your site has come along quite well. I'm sure you'll be seeing sales with more work. Good luck bro.

Thanks for the comment. My links are gray in a white background that seems to be the only issue with my theme. I'm trying to change it to red but don't know how to edit the CSS style sheet and when I did attempt it didn't work. But for now I think its fine- I'll fix it in the future.

Usually people leaving those kinds of comments are trying to get a link back to their site through their username. That comment can be spammed on 1000 blogs.

Thanks- A few people have done that but this one didn't. There was no link attached to the username or post.

I'll always edit the ones who do that by taking the link off and leaving the comment.

Seems to me that you need those scrolling bars with your current iframe width. You could hide your scrolling bars with this (I think):

I started off with a get fit blog too at the beginning of the year. Wasn't doing it to monetize, it was more to keep myself accountable and get a feel for the online world (plus losing 20lbs and actually getting the six pack helped too!). It helped me big time and what I learned helped me with the sites I'm doing today. Keep it up! I still add to it every now and then.
