Once I get a labtop after basic training I'm definetely getting adsense because its a lot better then bidvertiser. The clicks also generate a lot better for some reason as well.

-Adding 30 backlinks later today.
-I was looking through my keywords today and realized that, although they target my niche, they have really high competition. So today I'm gonna find some new keywords that have low-medium competition and a good amount of searches. Gonna collect around 10 and then go through my website and get most of them in there. I don't see my recruiter till tommorow and I'm not working out today so I have all day to do this.

-More domains; I wouldn't mind working on 2-3 sites at a time.

-Ezine approved 9/10 of my articles. The other is still pending. These are awesome backlinks. I have already gotten 8 visitors from just one of the articles. (unless that was the editorial team checking it)
-^^once the last article is approved, I'm gonna apply for there premium membership so I can write more.
-I applied for Google Adsense again yesterday.....and I was denied. I need a new IP all together if I am going to get them; and I plan on investing in a laptop in the next year.
-Adding backlinks later on.

Day 45 Summary:

-Opened up my paypal today, and was surprised that a member on this site sent me $101.78 which breaks me even. I don't know what to say; that is probably the nicest act on the internet I have ever seen in my life. I will have to use this money wisely and I think what I want to do is use some of it to get really good social bookmarking backlinks in the sell/buy trade section and use some of it to buy a domain or 2 and work on more sites.

Didn't realize until like last week that, your website domain has a lot to do with keywords. So I will be taking that into consideration when buying a domain.

I use it everyday. My website traffic is slowly climbing from it so it should be working. I'm using Red_Virus to get some high PR backlinks as well.

Great to hear. To use the both in combination is the best tactic that you can use.

Tools may be a little funky tonight a little if doing "new orders", redoing the spider code a tad bit. Previous & commenting etc should all be good to go.

I have to upgrade my hostgator hosting plan some how....my current plan only allows 1 domain. Didn't think I would ever own more then 1 domain when I started.

BTW you can get some targeted, useful traffic in your niche through bodybuilding.com's forum,
post 4-5 comments each day in some active threads,
put your website in the signature,
I say this should bring you another 50-100 visitors a day.

BB.com only gets me like 3 visitors a day. I have the website in my signature. My account there is davidjr74. I have like 7000+ posts there. Pretty active.

Hey Lemons, great documentation so far and I wish the best of success. My one request would be to change your revenue values to not include the money that was given to you since that was an exception doesn't add value to the purpose of the documentation. What's more beneficial to everyone, in my opinion, would be to list your cumulative expenses with correlation to your direct actions with the marketing. That gives a much more realistic, "What can I expect?" scenario.

I count it as a donation and part of "making money online" so I'm gonna leave it. Everybody has different scenarios. Some make money online instantly and some can spend 2 years, not taking action, and making no money at all. For me, I spent 3 years wasting time in ponzi schems (such as buxto) and automated traffic systems and wasted money on these. (banned from google adsense in this process biggest regret).

But if you really want Google Adsense you should take a few mins and do it.

If you have cable mode (or dsl prob) all you have to do is call them up and ask for a new IP. You might even be able to do it by logging onto your ISP website somehow.

Then, if you have any friends or family, use their bank account name/address to set up an account. There are probably a million different ways to get your Adsense rolling. If you don't want to use someone else's address or your own then buy one! - like paperlessPOBox.com.

Then be paranoid, clear all cookies and web cache before signing up for your adsense account. Or reinstall your OS if you want.

Try to remember what info you gave them when you first signed up. Then do not put any of that info into your new account.

Point is that I'm pretty sure you can accomplish it. And hopefully it will monitize some of those visitors better for you.

I signed up under a proxy and a different name/website and they still got me. Deleted cookies and everything right before.

I really love this site. I did Discus in my senior year of high school and was the best sport I had ever done. I liked Discus more then the 4 years of football I played.

I think one of the keys to being successful online is to own a site about something you like; a niche about your hobbies. For me, I couldn't have a site about computer hardware or a internet marketing site. You have to have a niche where you can actually provide good information and have fun doing it. Worse come to worse; even if you don't make money, it is still satisfying to build a site that helps others get the information they need. When I did track; I was looking all over the place for information and now my site brings it all together.

lemons you really like that template don't you, honestly i think it looks a little tacky.... i personally wouldnt buy anything... it has to look more... professional..

try a more neat looking theme.. try themeforest.net, or a different free theme.. if you need a hand editing a template or any wordpress stuffs let me know.

I can't find anything better. I like to make my sites as easy as possible for people to navigate. This theme does that pretty good. I don't want to pay for a theme either though. Friend of mine has artiseer and actually bought it so maybe I'll see if I can make one today.

Been reading along for a couple of weeks and expecting to see you make some cash from your site. I'm also new to AM but have made nearly $300 (not going to make me rich but I'm going in the right direction) in about 6 weeks just trying some things out and I've only spent maybe 8-10 hours. It feels to me like you're wasting your time adding more and more content and getting nowhere. Spending more time on keyword research and domain names would make more sense. The two sites I have going right now are just a few pages each, take no upkeep and were created based on the research. At what point does it make sense to change directions and choose a new method?

I guess that is one of the reasons I am only pulling in 100-200 visitors a day. Red_virus just completed my 100 social dofollow bookmarking links so we will see how that goes.

My new website has a very dense domain name. My keyword is in the domain itself so I should start seeing some organic traffic from it. I also did some more keyword search on this site. I will probably order another 100 backlinks for the new website as well.

Good job on your progress so far; maybe we will see mine speed up. I expected this to take a while.

My first site gets less than 100 per day but still converts sales so I don't 100% believe it's the traffic (though more couldn't hurt). I think it's the format and people wanting to believe what you're saying in order to buy. Focusing your efforts on a better sales presentation seems like a better place to put effort than posting yet another article to the site. I wish you luck but just hate to see you spinning your wheels.

Thank you for the advice. I guess this will help my new site. I need to do a better job preselling then- having products reviewed, using coupons, testimonials, certifications, making people wanna buy and feel safe buying.

I like adding content by the way though. I think a good mixture of both is what needs to be done.

Part of the Day 50 summary since I could not edit. I did a lot of work on the store. I added a testimonial page, gift cards, and coupon/deals page to help presell. I also added a About Our Store page so the readers know the return policies, guarntees, and shipping details. I also put a direct link to the store. I think this should help a lot with conversions.

I can't wait either. Hopefully it happens with my new site. I feel my new site already has 3x more potential then my first.

Just got backlinks to Digg and Stumbleupon. Both 8 PR. Also got 3 backlinks to wikipedia (and hopefully they stay). Wikipedia is PR 9.

With the high PR backlinks, hopefully my site gets indexed quicker. I'll probably go ahead and buy more links from Red_virus. (edit: and reddit)

I think you should have made some conversions already,
Although you have your niche, it's still not targeted enough,
Try target on a specific level or product,
try concentrate more on the AFFILIATE marketing,
and not on the CPC ads in your site.
For me at least It was low rates, low payouts, analogously to CPA offers promoting.
CPC doesn't really look like worth the effort for,

Choosing a product, target it, build an LP, drive some PPC traffic to it,
set up tracking and tweaking the campaign continuously

But this is only me,
there are defentlly some moniez on CPC and affiliate blog's referrals,
but as for breaking through as a newbie to this marketing thing,
promoting CPA offers with LP's and PPC advertising, has been working better for me.

I think I need to look into all this "PPC" talk.

I'm on the first page of Google for my keyword.

Awesome note- Your domain has a lot to do with your keyword. I am on the first page on Google for "Track and Field Events" and my site is barely a week old. That is because my domain is trackfieldevents.com, I have a good amount of backlinks already, and this time my content is all unique.

I already feel like my other site kinda failed :/
Maybe I should sell it? The competition for it is too rough, I have clickbank links and some duplicated content so Google probably didn't like that either. 6packnow.net, simply does not convert at all.

My new website; I like a lot. It actually has an awesome theme and I revamped the store. I learned a lot about keyword search and I'm already doing better in the search engine with my new site. Again, its a niche I enjoy writing about and I stressed that earlier in this journal; I think everyone should find a niche they like writing about. Last night, I didn't even sleep; I wrote content like 5-6 hours straight; I was hooked on it.

I don't know anything about PPC so I'm gonna read up on this tommorow. I gotta get some sleep- did an all-nighter.

Do you guys think it is possible to make a conversion with just $5.00? So far my keywords are:

buy discus
buy shot put
buy javelin
buy throwing hammer

I want my customers to be in a buy mode when they click my ads.

I'm not trying to be a downer here. I just wanted to point out a couple of things out. From what I can tell, the daily search totals for the keyphrase track and field events is around 50. The Adwords bid on that keyword is between $.31-$.49, meaning that any clicks on your adsense ads related to that will probably only pay $.08 at most. I didn't see how you chose the Track & Field niche, but it doesn't seem like it would be very profitable. I'm all for doing sites about what you're interested in, but is it worth it for such little returns? Like I said, I'm not being a negative Nancy or putting down your efforts. I think you're doing a lot of good stuff. Nice work getting to the first page of Google for those keywords. There's 52 million competing pages showing. Hopefully you won't incur the wrath of the sandbox.

The 6PackAbs site sounds like it might have the potential for a lot more profit. Higher paying niche (health & fitness), plus the keywords will get a lot more searches.

Are you going to be selling actual Track & Field related goods via Commission Junction or Amazon etc. or are you just going to Adsense clicks? Keep posting...Cheers.

Before you dive into PPC, I think you should probably learn a bit about it first. High chance of losing money if you don't know what you're doing. Have you signed up for Shoe Money's free course? Or used any of the tutorials at hqhow.com? Done any Google Keyword Tool research? Can't just shoot in the dark and hope for the best but base your decisions on solid data.

My one request would be to change your revenue values to not include the money that was given to you since that was an exception doesn't add value to the purpose of the documentation. What's more beneficial to everyone, in my opinion, would be to list your cumulative expenses with correlation to your direct actions with the marketing. If you have cable mode (or dsl prob) all you have to do is call them up and ask for a new IP. You might even be able to do it by logging onto your ISP website somehow. Then, if you have any friends or family, use their bank account name/address to set up an account. There are probably a million different ways to get your Adsense rolling. If you don't want to use someone else's address or your own then buy one! - like paperlessPOBox.com. Then be paranoid, clear all cookies and web cache before signing up for your adsense account. Or reinstall your OS if you want. Try to remember what info you gave them when you first signed up. Then do not put any of that info into your new account. I'm also new to AM but have made nearly $300 (not going to make me rich but I'm going in the right direction) in about 6 weeks just trying some things out and I've only spent maybe 8-10 hours. It feels to me like you're wasting your time adding more and more content and getting nowhere. Spending more time on keyword research and domain names would make more sense. The two sites I have going right now are just a few pages each, take no upkeep and were created based on the research. At what point does it make sense to change directions and choose a new method? For me at least It was low rates, low payouts, analogously to CPA offers promoting. CPC doesn't really look like worth the effort for, Choosing a product, target it, build an LP, drive some PPC traffic to it, set up tracking and tweaking the campaign continuously >>>>> will be much technically but finely would make the moniez and put you on the right wave, But this is only me, there are defentlly some moniez on CPC and affiliate blog's referrals, but as for breaking through as a newbie to this marketing thing, promoting CPA offers with LP's and PPC advertising, has been working better for me. best luck though, props on the hard work. Awesome note- Your domain has a lot to do with your keyword. I am on the first page on Google for "Track and Field Events" and my site is barely a week old. That is because my domain is trackfieldevents.com, I have a good amount of backlinks already, and this time my content is all unique. I already feel like my other site kinda failed :/ Maybe I should sell it? The competition for it is too rough, I have clickbank links and some duplicated content so Google probably didn't like that either. 6packnow.net, simply does not convert at all. My new website; I like a lot. It actually has an awesome theme and I revamped the store. I learned a lot about keyword search and I'm already doing better in the search engine with my new site. Again, its a niche I enjoy writing about and I stressed that earlier in this journal; I think everyone should find a niche they like writing about. Last night, I didn't even sleep; I wrote content like 5-6 hours straight; I was hooked on it.
