I think 6packabs has a lot of potential. The problem is for me, the competition is really rough. But I won't give up on it even though I feel like it. I have to work on the sales presentation for it like I did trackandfield.

As for the trackandfield one, I think visitors will pick up around track season which is this fall and then the coming spring so I'm hoping for the best.

-More visitors to my first site. I believe the backlinks will help out a lot.
-I have $24.88 in the paypal; so we could be looking at another domain. 3 sites, I think, has more potential to make money then 2 sites. My first site was like a project, my second site is doing great in the search engines but the search volume is really low, my third site I need to find a niche to really take control over.

Can't edit todays post but I am running a google ad right now. I only have $5 in my adwords account but we will see how it does. I'm selling a protein shake off of my shareasale affiliate network. My keywords are like "buy whey protein shake" and such like that. Trying to get visitors in a "buy" mode.

If I were you I would concentrate on building and monetizing a single site, messing around with 4 different ones when you are inexperienced will just result in 4 half way done sites.

Good advice there. At most limit your efforts to 2 sites for now. Get those making positive cash flow and you'll have learned the skills you need to rinse and repeat and start making even more scratch.

I can see you some of the skills necessary to do this. Just keep increasing your affiliate marketing IQ and you'll get there.

you are progressing great. a few quick pieces of advice

1) Get involved in communities related to your niche (forums, social sites, blogs), its a great way to both get links and build up natural traffic

2) Paying for backlink services has never worked for me. IMHO its generally wasted money.

3) Not to be a downer but $5 or even $50 spent on ppc would be completely wasted. PPC is an entirely different game than SEO and requires things like a tracking system, an understanding of CPC and EPC, an understanding of where you can buy traffic and what kind of traffic that is (which you then target your approach to).

You'll get there but first get this site making you some money, you've put in some good effort and you're pretty close.

4) From what I can tell you have good traffic now. Its time to get in some other CPA networks besides clickbank and get some offers you can use to actually make some money.

I'm impressed with your journal, keep up the hard work.

I took down the Statue on the 6packnow.net site on put up a CPA offer. Its time I start monetizing this traffic that I am getting. I'm averaging about 100 visitors a day. I also want to fix up the store on it like I have the Trackfieldevents.com one. Buy fixing up I mean having better store integration, adding testimonials, putting up Privacy Policy statments, shipping details, and return policies.

According to my Affiliate Network, ShareASale, I get $35 per lead for this one. The CPA offer fits my website perfectly so lets hope for the best. I think I picked a good one.

most of the links you buy will be fairly worthless, even if they are dofollow because either

a) they will be in the same place the person selling them puts all their sold links or

Good post. You should look at Red_virus backlink service though; it is really good. He uses different accounts for all the submissions and does quick work so I think its worth the money in that regards.

I think your own to something though. I'm thinking about making my own youtube videos and using twitter more. I started using twitter yesterday and I'm getting some visitors from it. If I can get 10-12 visitors up I think I can bring in some good traffic.

More updates today:
-Fixed my meta tags on the 6packnow site again. Apparently when I upgraded it a week okay; it took off all of my settings. My title, for example was just the link to my site which is horrible for SEO so I fixed this.
-Incase I didn't tell you, I got my first CPA offer on my home page. I think this might be easier then actual selling. Its right on the home page; and I took the bidvertiser ad off so my site won't look to spammy
-Did some more keyword search for my trackfieldevents website and found some good ones. I need to get my keywords in the actual content of my site as well rather then just the title tags. So I have some more to learn about SEO because theres some stuff I am not doing.

Google never (in my experience) shows you the real number of backlinks. Use Yahoo Site Explorer instead, or there there are other tools out there that do the same thing, seomoz might have one, I can't recall at the moment.

-Looks like it takes longer then I thought to get indexed by Yahoo and Google. This explains why no pages are showing up for yahoo. My site ranks #4 on Google for "Track Field Events" which gets 8100 a month.
-I added the plugin "Meta Tag Manager" on both my sites. I'm going to add the yahoo site explorer meta, the google webmater tools meta, and live webmaster tools meta. I think verifying my sites with the search engines will get them indexed faster rather then waiting for the search engines to index it themselves. If the meta tags don't work, I will add the file they give you to authencitate your site.

Beware that google modifies search results based on your recent history, so you may not be ranking 4th to everyone else. I'm surprised you haven't been indexed by Google yet, usually a digg submit, some dofollow sig/blog comments gets you there. I might have missed it in the thread but have you submitted a site map for both sites?

For my new site. I'm indexed by Google; I'm not indexed by Yahoo. My site 6packnow, for whatever reason, only has the homepage indexed. I have a plugin to take care of the sitemap so I have that.

Just finished getting my 2 sites verified by Google (google webmaster tools), Yahoo (yahoo site explorer), and Bing (Live Search Webmaster Tools).

I also added meta tags for keywords in the header.php file for both sites. This is just to be sure they are there. I don't think meta keywords are that useful for search engines like they used to be, but I wanna be sure.

One thing you should change about your site is not having the about page be the first thing visitors see, have new content appear on the main page. That way you give them a reason to come back.

Write posts promoting cpa offers. Don't just stick up a banner and expect conversions.

Those visits are from the directory administrators / spiders looking at your site etc. Don't expect to much traffic from those directories. Think about it, do you use directories?

I've now read through this from start to finish and am very impressed with your perseverance. It's really encouraging to see that you're sticking with it even having barely made a cent after two months.

I can totally relate, because I feel like I've been building wordpress sites forever but never able to generate the necessary traffic to convert. Then again, I've not been writing posts specifically targeting cpa offers. I've been attempting affilate marketing for 18 months now and I'm beginning to see results (£49 so far this month from EPN) but nothing very spectacular.

Following threads like these gives me motivation to stick at it and keep diversifying and repeating. I truly believe you reap what you sow, so all your hard efforts will eventually pay off. Keep at it.

that was an initial boost that i wasnt aware of when i started. i get about 10-20 a day from it still though.

-my computer has been really messed up. my keyboard's shift keys don't work anymore [already tried diagnosing it] so now i have to copy the at symbol all the time. gets really annoying....

i'm gonna be gone soon for a long time. basic training is 2 months; then i only get 2 weeks of break before tech school which is a couple more months. sucks leaving for a while there still tons of stuff i haven't gotten to do yet.

a learned a lot through this thread and i can't wait to get my air force career going. i'm gonna save up and buy an alienware labtop then start this up again.

by that time- my sites should be doing a lot better with traffic as the backlinks and such start kicking in. plus the search engines like older sites. my seo on both sites is really good. theres probably just keywords missing in the content here and there. trackfieldevents is doing awesome for a few key phrases.

day 61 Summary:

-my stores, from what my affiliate networks are telling me, are starting to get some clicks now. hopefully conversions soon. have yet to make my first sale but its getting close

Find a paid survey CPA that pays out $1.50 or $2

Write articles and submit to ezinearticles.com then in the byline, link it to your landing page. (don't direct link)

Submit around 10-15 articles.

Realistically --- you should be able to make $30 your first month. Then $30 etc etc Or $50-$100 per month.

(article traffic really never stops, it may wax and wane)

Breaking factor: how good your copy is, how well written your article is, how well you SEO'd the article, and how good your landing page is.

day 63 Summary:

-today i'm gonna change my 6packnow site. give it a new theme and have it target a cpa offer. i'm gonna put some testimonials, reviews and everything for one product. the cpa offer is 35 dollars for one lead. the 6pacnow site is getting 80-100 searches a day now from google so i think that is enough to start making some conversions. of course i'm not gonna make conversions like i am now just throwing the banner up. heres the link if you can't find it www.6packnow.net

-have to find the right product with the right landing page so i'm looking all over shareasale at the moment.

-new theme for 6packnow.net ; it was done by italianbull and looks awesome. you can find him in the sell/buy/trade section i think he does good work. he also did my track site.
-thats all for now, i'm gonna work on the website a bit. fix the store up a bit, promote a cpa offer, do other little work. i'm getting a good flow of traffic.

Its time I start monetizing this traffic that I am getting. I'm averaging about 100 visitors a day. I also want to fix up the store on it like I have the Trackfieldevents.com one. Buy fixing up I mean having better store integration, adding testimonials, putting up Privacy Policy statments, shipping details, and return policies. According to my Affiliate Network, ShareASale, I get $35 per lead for this one. The CPA offer fits my website perfectly so lets hope for the best. I think I picked a good one. lemons884 King Shit Join Date: Oct 2008 Location: Maryland Posts: 457 iTrader: 10 / 100%	day 62 i'm gonna be gone soon for a long time. basic training is 2 months; then i only get 2 weeks of break before tech school which is a couple more months. sucks leaving for a while there still tons of stuff i haven't gotten to do yet. a learned a lot through this thread and i can't wait to get my air force career going. i'm gonna save up and buy an alienware labtop then start this up again. by that time- my sites should be doing a lot better with traffic as the backlinks and such start kicking in. plus the search engines like older sites. my seo on both sites is really good. theres probably just keywords missing in the content here and there. trackfieldevents is doing awesome for a few key phrases. day 61 Summary: -spent 4 dollars on backlinks by akhanna18. -my stores, from what my affiliate networks are telling me, are starting to get some clicks now. hopefully conversions soon. have yet to make my first sale but its getting close -bidvertiser payment coming up soon. -maybe bux.to will finally pay me the 70 dollars while i'm at basic. there up to april 1st. there an entire year and a month behind in payments.
