I think I have figured out how to use SB sites for getting backlinks - you basically create an account then add your sites.

There are some sites like slashdot that I don't understand - it seems like you need to submit a story with a link to your site? IF this is the case I assume you have to write something decent?

For the sites where you basically just add your link - what are the limitations? Can I add 100 of my bookmarks or do I have to add bookmarks to other people's sites as well so it's not considered spam?

I noticed a lot of the guys that offer SB services mention multiple ip addresses - what is this for?

keep submitting own site = ban
keep submitting bs sites (landing pages for example) = ban

the sites I have are all legitimate blogs.

So are you saying I need to submit sites that are not mine as well in order to stay under the radar? If so what is the ratio - for every one of my own sites I add - how many other people's sites should I add?

or are you talking about sites like slashdot where the sites are manually looked at by real humans?

socialmarker is one of the best free system I've found.
another is http://onlywire.com/ - faster than socialmarker.

I usually leave sites like slashdot be.

thanks - I have heard of onlywire as well - I was thinking the same thng about leavign sites like slashdot alone.

Thing is socialmarker only has 21 dofollow SB sites and I know there is about 100. Do you use both onlywire and socialmarker? do they overlap and have some of the same sites?

Are there some dofollow SB sites that neither of these services have that you need to manually submit to?

Also do you use the bookmark function and randomly add sites you come across to "fill in" the other sites other than your own?

just looking for some specifics on adding your own sites vs adding other people's sites so you don't get flagged.
