Hey all,
Found a couple good domain names I'm about to register... they were regged in the past though. Looking at the Way Back Machine - they were regged with a site between 1998 - 2000.... then vacant a few years, then regged but parked from 2004-2007. Question: 1) If the domain was banned from google - where can you research and see this info? 2) And if it was, since it would be under new ownership, would google reconsider and remove any bans they have on it? 3) Are there any other useful resources to check out a domains history (how many links it had, bans, or other details) besides Way Back Machine, and Spamhaus ? Thanks in advance! |

I don't think there is a way to see if it's 'banned' per se. It may be deindexed based on content, but that's not permanent and throwing something new and unique out there will likely get it back in no time.
When I'm looking at a domain's history, one of the first things I do is I check it's yahoo link directory: http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com...h?p=domain.com and just do a little footprinting on it. If it's been parket, then unregistered, good chance you won't have issues with a new whois/nameserver/ip/etc. For easy footprinting of domains, download SEOQuake for FF/IE. It's a handy little toolbar that lets you see a shitton of info about a domain/page. |
