Interesting kingwhat's Noob Journal - "Everyday Im Hustlin"

I started on WF about a month ago. I posted "Im a noob, Im overwhelmed, where do I start?" and got some very helpful feedback.

Im starting a new thread because I outgrew the previous thread. Im still a noob, but Im no longer overwhelmed and I have a running start.

My first campaign is www.verticaljump101.com

Ill start my count as today, day 31.

Props to:

Brandon aka kaveman
for getting me accepted to A4D after I got rejected 4 times.

Lemon884
for doing his thing and keeping me motivated. We were running into similar challenges and reading his thread assures me that I wasn't alone.

Day 31

Up to this point, over the past month, Ive:

- signed up with ClickBank and chose a campaign
- bought a domain name
- bought hosting
- downloaded and installed Wordpress
- downloaded a few different template and finally chose one to run with
- created a header and customized the style of the template
- did research on the different affiliate offers Im running
- created a few reviews to presell offers
- uploaded videos for readers interests
- bought $50 of google PPC

I have a day job and also work as a dj and those two take up a lot of my time. In hindsight I know I could have accomplished more within a months time but the truth is at times I was too lazy and at other times I was just scared. Internet/Affliate marketing has a steep learning curve and at this point Im more so motivated by the fact that I know if someone else learned it then so can I, than I am by money. The money will come.

Questions:
None at the moment.

Realizations:
Though I consider myself a decent writer, creating content can get a bit boring.

Ideas:
I should create original videos for youtube to drive traffic.

Current Action:
Creating more content. Writing articles and reviews.

Next Action:
SEO. Link building, article submission, social media marketing, etc

Current Assets:
(- $90). Invested in domain, hosting and google ppc

My google analytic stats from Day 31.

59 visits, sucks, I know. But Im happy to actually be getting hits from search engines now. I'm gonna see whats working and keep pushing.

Google analytics only seems to give me stats from the previous day which is why Im posting Day 31 (yesterday) and not today's. Does anyone know a way to get site statistics in real time?

_dave_ has a spectacular aura about
Your clickbank hoplinks look odd, are you sure they are set up correctly? You maybe should be cloaking them with PHP redirect or something more fancy like this plugin WPMarketer | Performance Marketing with Wordpress (been meaning to give this a try myself, haven't as yet)

Try running Piwik - Web analytics - Open source instead.

Day 32

Your boy kingwhat is still at it. In between running around all day I managed to accomplish goals.

- added 2 articles
- added 1 review
- added 3 youtube videos
- added a SEO plug in
- added a few backlinks to test results
- made adjustments to site layout and design

Questions:
Is there a way to get site statistics in real-time?
Am I doing enough, too much, or too little?
Why aren't there more hours in a day?

Realizations:
Too many to mention. I will say this though, originally this is what blueRAP told me

I believed him, but after learning from experience just over this weekend, now I really get what he was saying.

Ideas:
I have some specific articles to write in the future.
I have new keywords that I want to try

Creating more content. Writing articles and reviews. My goal is to have a ton of content before I go hardcore on marketing and promotion.

Day 32 Google analytic stats

Come to think of it Im not sure if the stats I put up for Day 31 were for a single day or for a month. Anyways I made sure to get it right today (Day 32).

Got 26 visits today. The 4 referring site visits were from the backlink I experimented with. I guess that means it worked.

Im wondering if the 16 direct traffic visits are from me refreshing the page while I was working on it.

Thanks for the laugh man. Seriously though, you can block views from your computer from analytics so you don't artificially boost your numbers during site development. Search the help or FAQ section in analytics on how to do it.

You were right. Thanks.

Google analytics allows you to add "filters" to you stats a variety of ways. I filtered using my ip address from work and home. I was hoping that it would take that information and apply it to the stats its compiled already but they didnt change so I suppose it didnt. Hopefully I did it right and they apply moving forward.

Tracker202 + piwik, Ill look into them today.
