Tried updating prosper202, now it's all fucked up - WickedFire - Affiliate Marketing Forum

fuck i just tried updating prosper 202 and did everything according to the docs:

1. backed up 202-config folder
2. re-uploaded the new version
3. deleted the old version
4. renamed the new folder so it woudl read prosper202 instead of prosper202_1.3.2
4. put old 202-config folder in new version folder

and now i get this error when i try to see my tracking:
Error establishing a database connection

This either means that the username and password information in your 202-config.php file is incorrect or we can't contact the database server at . This could mean your host's database server is down.

Are you sure you have the correct username and password?
Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname?
Are you sure that the database server is running?
If you're unsure what these terms mean you should probably contact your host. If you still need help you can always visit the Prosper202 Support Forums.

Can anyone help me out, please?

yeah, via filezilla and i got the usual 'existing folder/files, would you like to overwrite' blah blah crap so i did yes, and apply to all.

if its the db error, and you had it working prior to upgrade - check your config file again and make sure its the correct one.

if you've updated over a previous install, you should never have to "delete" anything. you simply backup your config file, then upload the new files over the top of the old installation.

the files as extracted from the downloaded zip will extract to a folder called "prosper202_1.3.2"

you want to upload the files in this folder, but not the folder itself.

We wanted to backup the 202-config.php file, not the 202-config folder

The configuration in your 202-config.php file is wrong.

Your database connection is wrong, either username/password and or hostname.

i fixed it

but it still says a new update is available, even though im running on the new version's files..

Yeah I updated Prosper according to the instructions but it still says I'm running the old version... anyone else have this problem?

You have to go to your domains root immediately after installing and it will say it's ready to upgrade, click here.. then you can login.
