I am clearly blind because I can't seem to find the button / text to edit a post I started, anyone care to help me out a wee tad bit?

After 5 minutes you can't edit it, if you want to remove it you can contact a mod.

OK Thanks - wanted to edit an existing FS ad so it would be more up to date, guess I won't.

I think it's actually 10 minutes, and then you can't edit. WF makes you live with your words forever, like DeBeers' "A diamond is forever."

I'm not sure what the reason was here, but on other forums I used to frequent they disabled the edit after a short period of time so that those who might want to reply don't waste their time on a 5 or 10 minute rebuttal only to have the OP delete the original thread.

One of the oldest forum spam techniques in the book, is to make a bunch of relevant posts, then go back later (like a week or two later) and edit the post to insert your money links.

Edit timeouts make sense as an anti-spam tactic.
