Help FB profitability problems

I've been running FB ads for a few weeks (mainly dating offers, payouts $3.50-$5.00), and am having trouble turning a consistent profit. I'll deploy 30-50 ads (various combos of images and copy), quickly kill off the ones that aren't getting good CTR's or aren't converting, then split test the good performers to try and improve the CTR. If CTR is below .08% I chuck it after a few thousand impressions unless the conversion rate is giving an ROI of 25%-33% vs. my avg. CPC on that ad. For the good performers I also try to transition over to CPM when possible.

Problem is, when I deploy a new batch of ads, the cost of the high bids you need to pay to get any impressions far outweigh any profits I am making. Add in the fact that ad fatigue seems to set in after 2-3 days, so I have to deploy a new batch of ads several times a week to get the CTR's back up. I can't seem to get out of the cycle, so any helpful tips would be appreciated!

Yeah... A couple months ago I spent ~$1500 "testing" dating offers/ads on FB (same way as you - ad copy + images). Made about $1000 back.

*Start a batch, spend spend, kill off the shit ads asap. Let the profitable ones run. 2-3 days later CTR (or CVR) drops. Stop the "good" ads. Start a new batch.* Loop.

There's definitely more to running a profitable (and long(-ish) term) FB campaign than just throwing shit at the ad board and hoping some of it makes you monies.

You're not going to get any good advice here, or any other forum, or pretty much anywhere else on the internet.

Do more testing, be different, test some more, try to stand out somehow.

Also, go to finchsells.com and read his three (?) posts about FB.

Good luck.

Raise the bar for your minimum CTR and get the high CTR images switched over to CPM.
