So, I've been setting up a ton shit on google apps and google accounts, analytics, etc. I'm starting to think this may be a really bad idea. Alot of my stuff will be all white hat, but I don't know how entrenched I wanna get with google.
Is it a bad idea to use the google apps email service? or am I paranoid. I've heard it's not a great idea to use google analytics if you plan on buying any ppc, because they merge data and can change pricing based on it. Help me out guys. I don't want to fuck myself. Should I switch my email back to my host, and find different tracking? If so, what is best for tracking and that doesn't use my info? |

They already have tons on information about your stuff even If you use the conventional Google account and not the Google Apps account. As far as the service is concerned, I use it for my business email account and since the last year and never had any major issues but ometimes they go down sometimes for 10-15 mins in 3 months or so.

I use getclicky for tracking, because i prefer it to GAnalytics...
But worrying about Google Apps? I have G Apps - it's very good. I think worrying about them looking at your search stats is one thing, but worrying about them reading your email is taking it a bit far - if nothing else, it would actually be illegal, at least in the UK.

I need to just not worry about it. Nobody really knows what all they track and how they relate it to their various products and services. I think worrying about that is just a waste of time. It's not healthy to feed paranoia.
I appreciate your sanity and advice. |
