Meh.
|
Possibly (probably) an ultra-paranoid question from an ultra-paranoid member, but I received a better-than-expected response from my cat getting fat thread, so it's worth a shot.
I'm going to get started doing some affiliate marketing using blogging, landing pages, PPC, and Craigslist (whitehat, don't worry). My question is dealing with URL shorteners. Most people targeted with purchases are rather turned off by URL's that are over 200 characters long and contain multiple strings of letters, numbers, and symbols. URL shorteners make easy work of these, but I am wary using these after reading about the possibilities of these shortened URL's robbing your profits as their own with redirecting URL's instead of a shortened one of your own. I'm using TinyURL right now, as it lets me choose my own wording after tinyurl.com/, and it's working out rather well. Of course, this is still my first day in the affiliate marketing bag, so any type of profit, whether it be pennies or dollars, is "working out rather well". But does anyone else know anything about these URL shrotening services taking money form prospective buyers and redirecting the shortened URL's elsewhere? Or is this all hyped-up BS? Any guidance or information will be immensely helpful. Thanks!
