What is the best way for finding great affiliates? - WickedFire - Affiliate Marketing Forum

Anyone have suggestions on how to find the great affilates? We work very hard at generating great offers but the process of finding great affiliates direct, as opposed to working with the networks, is not easy. Any recommendations are appreciated.

I can't imagine it would be that hard if your offer was worth a damn and converted well. What is your offer?

build a reputation of having good support for affiliates. bring in quality offers that convert. pay your affiliates on time. a great affiliate has connections to networks where they have good support and trust with their partners. any affiliate doing serious volume is going to have to trust you on some level to move their volume over to you. you cant just pitch them with the standard I have higher payouts, etc. you could pitch them with epc/conversion data which might be a little better. but bottomline it comes down to reputation and trust. there are no quick solutions to your question

Networking. Some of my biggest deals happen away from a show and at a night club somewhere.

-Ask your existing affiliates what they want/need from your program.
-Give it to them

If they start converting, they're more likely to spread the word. If they don't convert, you'll score cooperation points. Active AM's are always a plus for affiliates.

easy run your own offers on several of the well known traffic sources - people are always looking to see what the competition is running. The rest is easy - just pay on time and pay them a good rate

Just ask on here. I got several good responses just asking people if they were interested in my product. It will be hit or miss, but still. Some of those guys were generating 100+ leads daily for my niche product.

Eh. You'd be surprised. I have a number of affiliates who will share sites that convert. They're not gonna run you up the flag pole, but when asked, they'll share. My point is that you can build a reputation. People talk.
