Help Business/company name?

When signing up for afilliate networks, what do you put in for your business/company name? Do you just make one up? Can it be unofficial? What do you need to do?

you shouldn't make one up. only put a company name if you have a company. If not, just put your name in, you can sign up to any network as a sole proprietor

The ones I have tried require you to use a company name like Azoogle.

You can have a DBA, a doing-business-as certificate (costs like $25/$30) with each state that will let you do business under that name so technically you can have a company name without actually being incorporated. Although being incorporated definitely has its advantages, and it is something I would look into.

Use your name; sometimes I will put "Independent," if you need to put a tax id and you are a US citizen, you can use your SSN.

you can be paid to your individual name. you'll have to file a schedule C with your taxes for the income you make from affiliate marketing. it would be helpful to get a dba or business so you can seperate your personal expenses from your businesses expenses. easier to keep track of everything. as far as listing with the network just put in your name until you have a company name.

I would put only put a company name if you sign for that DBA under your SSN or on behalf of a corporation with it's own EIN

You can use your own name and put something like "Enterprises" after it.

Self, your initials, your full name again, etc. They usually get the point.

It costs $30 for a business certificate, at least in my state. I'd recommend it, as it helps you look more official, not to mention dropship suppliers will usually want to deal with a business, if that's one of the routes you choose.
