Seo link:your-site.com comes up with nothing

So, I have a couple of 1 year old+ sites that I've been sending links to since the beginning and when I look up if google recognizes any of the backlinks it comes up with nothing.

Is this weird? Would it matter because they're on shared hosting accounts?

Use the Webmaster Tools that Google has. It will be more informative for what links it is looking at for your SERP's.

Even Webmaster tools doesn't give you much information, sometimes it will only show a few dozen links even if you have thousands.

Use a linkdomain:DomainName.com -- Reserve Your Place In Cyberspace with DomainName.com Domain Name Registration Services! search in Yahoo. That's more accurate. Bing webmaster tools will also show links to your site.

None of these methods are 100% accurate unfortunately.

You have showed this link link:your-site.com. If you have put this into Google to get see your backlinks you are doing it wrong. The link should be: link: your-site.com. The problem is there has to be a space between the colon and the site link: your site.com

Wow, epic fail on your first post. That's gotta be some kind of record.

Don't use Google to check backlinks, use Yahoo Site Explorer.
