Fuckyeah Getting started again. New content site almost ready

Whats up everyone....

Ok I've been doing some deep thinking and realized that I haven't actually been trying to build a Longterm business AT ALL... I'm workin retail right now and IT FUCKING SUCKS. My online efforts have been trying to chase a quick stack without thinking longterm which I now realize is STUPID. Basically I got lucky and hit a campaign in adwords back in 08 that averaged around $30 a day profit?? maybe... I basically just created a landing page one day, threw some ppc at it and was profitable, and I never updated it or tested etc...I just got my checks blew them on coke and hookers (not really) and didn't pay off my credit card ballance. (CAN YOU SAY RETARDED!)

I was really irresponsible and fucked up... Please flame here I deserve it

I didn't want a business I just wanted teh quick internet monies so I could party it all away.

I recently decided to dedicate myself to building a LONG TERM BUSINESS because working retail when I know that I can be making real money is a FUCKIN WASTE OF MY LIFE.

What I have been doing.

In the past 3 days I have done MORE WORK than I have EVER DONE in the entire like 4 years i've been reading about IM. I used to just sit around and read forums all day. FUCK THAT SHIT.

CURRENTLY

I am working on a website that is in the weight loss niche. I created this site completely from scratch using kompozer. This is my FIRST REAL WEBSITE.... So far I have about 10 unique articles on my site. All my main links on the site including home are COMPLETELY unique.

I have an "articles" section on my website and right now I have about 20ish plr weightloss articles. I wanted to be lazy and not make them unique but that is stupid. I will reword all plr articles to make the unique before my site goes live.

*Monitization*

I will be promoting some clickbank ebooks like Truth about abs with this site...

Reason being I HAVE made money in the past promoting this particular product before. Around $2,000 so I know that I will convert my traffic into sales. I will also start testing different cpa offers n shit too but just not right away.

GOAL FOR SITE

My goal for this site is not necessarily to make x amount of dollars or anything like that... I've been there done that. I've learned not to chase quick money. If I work on building a quality site that can rank in the SERPS I will make MORE LONGTERM.

LONGTERM is my focus

This site is all about learning how to create a real website, learning how to drive traffic, and getting my feet wet in seo.

These skills are by far WAY MORE valuable to me than money right now... Once I have these skills I can do this over and over again in many niches and the money will come. Im not worried about that at all....

*Traffic gen*

I plan on submitting unique articles to ezine on a consistent basis. I have 40ish articles on ezine still promoting an old domain I don't own anymore. I will be changing all resource links and using anchor text link for my keywords to give my site a lil link serp juice.

I will purchase red virus dirctory submissions

I will also promote through yahoo answers...

SO far that is what I have.

If you have any idea, recommendation, dickrolls, or just want to flame me FEEL FREE! I am here to learnm and if you see something im missing please let me know!

I will post a link to the site as soon as it is indexed.

Anyway that is where I am at right now. - BACK TO WORK!

Peace

Good to hear. There's temptation when you start seeing money rolling in, but one recommendation that can help here with that:

If you haven't already, set up a separate bank account just for this. I know most of us (I know I did) start out on their checking account and bank card, but even if you haven't incorporated yet, it creates a barrier between your personal spending, and business related spending. Leave the business card at home when you go out, and there's less temptation to use it. Then again most dealers and hookers don't take credit/debit, but it's a level where you won't be able to hit the ATM for your business account after a night at the bar or something.

Yea dude I feel that...

I have 16 more articles to rewrite, and I've decided I HATE writing bullshit content...

I will definitely be outsourcing my content in the future.

I def feel burned out with the content and keep puttin it off...

Im almost tempted to just go ahead and launch the site, right now and add the rest of the content later.

Take an entire weekend and write 52 original short articles, and cron job the f'ckers to load every 5 days... now your whole year of content is set, so you can concentrate on marketing and other seo stuff.

(want the articles more often, like every 3 days - just write more of them + preload)

When you have a new article idea that just hits the streets to keep current, by all means write it and load it as well. (as the other articles are still in queue)

Ok I have a question that I think I already kno the answer too...

Should I launch a static site or use wp?

I kinda think I should go ahead and just use wp and scrap the bullshit static site cause there are just too many good plugins to use....

What do you think?

It's good to have different TYPES of to-do lists. For instance, if you're in a witty/inspired mood, it's time to be writing content.

When my brain is clicking and I'm in the fuckin zone, that means it's PHP/MySQL/CSS/HTML/design time...

When I'm just not sure what to do, or lazy or hungover, I have a pre-set linkbuilding routine that I can do when the brain is off.

This helps with burnout and prevents doing a crap job. No way would I ever say "I'm not gonna do ANYTHING ELSE until I finish these 16 articles"... that's how you get burnt out and pissed at your own project.

Yep, I do that too.

I actually have a context in my to do lists that is titled "@braindead".
This is the list I turn to when I need something that I can do even though tired, cranky and blaaargh.

Hmmm - I could use a braindead list. There are plenty of times when I try to do something complex and end up staring at the monitor for an hour trying to remember what I was doing.

That's an awesome idea, because i usually resort to watching episodes of 24 when I'm @braindead hmm...

SoItsGoin has a spectacular aura about
You really should look at the free templates and try and pick a color scheme a little less brown. You are also going to want to format your text with paragraph/line breaks and try to better organize the site.

Right now it looks pretty low-res and when most people are looking for advice from news-type articles they want a site that seems somewhat professional.

Hey guys, my site is goin along pretty good...

I have a few questions for yall about wordpress.

Anyway my site is http://www.myweightlosscorner.com

Ok the BIGGEST ISSUE with my site so far is my font size....

Why is it so fucking small? I would like it to look like this site http://rickbeckman.org/how-to-intent...-wordpress-25/

The font on this site are very readable and the spacing between the lines is good...

MINE SUCKS!!!!!!

Anyway how do I fix this?

rolling on to next question.

If you look at the links you will see a home link and a Fat loss Programs that work link. Whenever I put in my title, which is fat loss programs that work, it makes link which I don't want. I just want a home link then about me etc....

Anyway thanks everyone who has posted so far......

Peace

Edit your css...
---

font-size:#px;
line-spacing:#px;

You are also styling tags within styling tags(<h3 style="..."><span style="...">...</span></h3>), use styles.css to manage all of your styling.

Search for Page Link Manager Plugin at WP.
