Newbiealert Adsense in blogs

I'm new to this and so I figured I would try using Adsense first. First of all, is it possible to use a blog from Blogspot.com as your company website in the Adsense application? And I was also wondering if it is worth it to put Adsense ads in blogs.

Yes you can apply to adsense via blogger. Look around blogger...the adsense link is around there somewhere.

Although, I suggest writing some posts before you apply.

If your smart about it you can make some fairly decent money with your blog using Adsence, however you should know how to impliment the code into your blogger account, second you should write some posts before you place the adsence into it, I would say about 10 posts.

From there your not going to make any money with Adsence unless your getting traffic to your blog, this here is an entire new area, I just started up my newest project, just today I've started my work on getting traffic to the blog, in about a week I should be making about $4 bucks per day with the blog by using Adsence.

Should you expect to make this much?

No, because of the simple question you asked I can tell your new to this whole thing, so new in fact that I'm surprized you haven't gotten any bad remarks here because of asking this very basic question.

Anyway If you need some additional help I'll set you in the right direction but I'm not going to tell you everything there is to know, that would take me well over a month of typing, I can suggest that you read, read, and then read some more, learn, set aside any spare time you have to learn.

Don't quit your day job because your not going to be pulling in any big bucks soon, it takes time and since your new, your going to have to learn a lot of things, its a learning curve that your going to have to go through in order to make it successful.

What the hell is Adsense? What the hell is a blog? There is absolutely no money to be made on the internet.

I think they hid the wealth of the internet under that rock over there, or maybe by the G in Google.

from reading some other posts i knew i would get at least some flames, but thanks for not cursing me off.

In regards to what Aequitas said. I know i need some posts in the blog and I have already started making some and editting the time stamps so it looks like it's been around for awhile, but will the blog attract traffic on its own or will i need to use a service like adwords?

Hey, a newbie who can handle a little abuse? Well, welcome to WickedFire. You'll fit right in.

My advice is to use free services like Digg.com and Reddit.com first. Submit some of your articles/blog entries. That should get you some decent traffic to start off with.

After your site starts getting some traffic, and you feel like you need more, then go ahead and use Adwords for that extra (paid) traffic. But, don't pay for anything you don't need. What I mean by this is... if you can get enough traffic through FREE ventures, don't waste your money by paying for more.

Good luck!

I wouldn't even use the time stamps/dates, Its more personal prefrence then anything else but I would just edit the template and remove the dates.

You can make some decent money using Adsence. I got my first check from google using blogspot and adsecne. Just write a post everyday or every other day and submit you site to as many directories. Just have to stick with it.

Make Money From A Blog « John Chow dot Com

Why not read this, some of you guys might not like John Chow, but in february he made over $7000 with his blog, so he knows his game.

Monetizing your blog is not that hard actually, it's just about post consistency, good monetization, learning how to write and getting traffic (with Digg, furl, delicious,... for example, having blogrolls, etc.)

Good Luck!

I read that this morning, you too could make $7K a month when you get up to having 300,000 page views per month, adsence properly placed, know how to mentionize affiliate products, know the proper text ad networks where you can charge lots of money to put a link and/or ad on your site, oh and lets not forget review me, its all about building a name for yourself, some might not like him but he has a lot of readers that do and when he says sign up here or buy this, they jump, and thats what you should look to inspire in your readers.

Its definatly possible and it can be done but it will take you a lot of work, most forget that John Chow knows more then the average joe when it comes to making money online.

It took john 6 months to achieve that with his personal blog, so I'm going to run some fake stats for you guys and see, well ok their not really fake they are just estimates on one of my blogs for a 6th month term assuming I can hit my goals.

I figured out in 6 months time I should be at lets say 320,000 page views per month with about 96,000 unique visits per month, which means I should be able to easily hit that $7K mark as well haha, well ok I might not be getting the 96,000 unique visitors per month but if I can reach my goals I should be able to top john's personal blogs with one of my niche blogs in that 6 month time frame.

I'll have to post my goals each month I guess to see if I'm coming close.
