Question So I got this spam... "silo" linking structure

Quote:
What the Silo Structure effectively does is provide a tight seal around each of your core themes on your website, which in turn puts back that ultra-focused target on your content and spells out exactly to the search engines what your site is all about.
I don't want to give this guy any free traffic, so I'm hotlinking his graphic:

So does this make sense versus other link structures?

yes, it makes a lot of sense. of course, he's wrapping that in a bunch of hypey bullshit, but the fundamental message is very important for internal linking structure

So how does

A -> B -> C -> D -> Z

compare to something like

A -> E -> Z
B -> E -> Z
C -> F -> Z
D -> F -> Z

?

How do they differ? Would one style be more effective on certain types of sites (authority links vs. splog vs. social network vs. whatever)?

I always thought you'd want to have a variety of sources all contributing links to your "Z" site. Is there a specific instance where Silo is more effective than a more varied and spread out link structure? Or is Silo just more effective with Google right now?

It's just a name that guy used for his link method... we can call it "link style Q" for all it matters.

I'm just curious if anyone wants to share insights on that style versus other styles.

You lost me...what are your letters referring to?

The silo linking structure is purely for onsite seo practices, it doesn't have anything to do with link building. It's a way for you to force the search engines to associate certain sections/pages of your site with specific keywords.
