DMCA Question
I downloaded some public domain content (old user manuals) from a site, stripped off the "Not For Resale" page (had to break the password), and put it up for sale on my site.
The dude sent me a cease and desist. The content is definitely public domain but I did circumvent his password protection on the PDF. Should I remove the content? If I can get the content from another source (who may have done what I did) is it then legit? It's bullshit that you can PW protect PD content and have legal rights. Also, I bought some on eBay that has a NFR "license" on it. That's bullshit, right? |
