Hi there, thanks for the sweet thread! My brother keeps joking that he wants to launch a porn site with me... Somehow though, i know he actually really does want to! I have a few questions for you if that is OK?

I see free sites where the videos don't have the age disclaimer thing on. Why dont they get taken down if that is illegal?

300 videos would be a big investment for me. Are they any ways to get involved and start learning and earning from the ground up?

I skimmed most of this thread. For me, one answer to the above would be a sort of rev share, did i see this mentioned?

What effect is free porn having on pay sites and how can you keep one step ahead?

What about an adult toy drop ship store as the main site, with an affiliate to a membership clip site and a blog, connected as tabs to the main toy shop? Sort of an all-in-one porn site?

Great thread BF, even though I have no interest of entering this industry I definitely enjoy the great info.

As someone else said above me, lot's of people don't fully understand how large the adult industry is and how strongly it effects online marketing (methods) in mainstream as well. The guys doing adult have traditionally been way ahead of the curve.

I just want to add that I really like the attitude of building something bigger. Not satisfied with selling stuff for others but wanting to create and sell your own stuff.

Warning pages aren't a must, I also don't bother to add them.

You can easily start by building wordpress blogs and selling memberships.

By disclaimer i mean the lagal warning at the start of the video clips that verifies the actors age etc... 'a freind' has seen a load of videos on the free sites etc without this at the start of clips and 'he' was wondering what the situation is with that??

I've a few fake-tubes and I've no such a warning. Also many paysites don't have and there isn't a problem about it.

By the way, what tool do you use if you want to grab a streaming video online>Watermark it. I'm thinking "Video download helper" for FF, but then I get a .flv file and it cannot be used in Sorenson. (this is from grabbing and reposting youtube vids)

Check out "pazera software". it's free and good enough to convert a flv to just about anything for these purposes. I hope you're not thinking about putting your watermark on someone else's content without licensing it first.

Yep that was the plan, but I was going to do it on those "top 10 crashes" or "top 10" something video they have on youtube, I'm assuming the person who made those did not license each of those 10 videos... that's just my assumption. In your experience this may get you in a lot of legal problems?

It can, but still it's not something I would try to do. It's pretty easy to make money in adult the legal way. Just start a few blogs, optimize them and the $$$ will come.

However it doesn't mean that it's worth doing
