My name is Stefanie and I'm the Marketing Director for an e-commerce company in St. Louis, Missouri. I'm definitely familiar with PPC/affiliate marketing/SEO/etc., but doing it from the side of the affiliate is a much tighter game and I figured I might as well start contributing if I'm going to spend so much time reading the threads here.

Hiya
Name is Ivan - wrong side of (they say) 50. Forum sent me a birthday greeting couple of days ago, which surprised me. Nice touch and I appreciated that. Coming here today with a rant - looking for somewhere to post it. Impressed with the content here and know that there is a lot for me.

1st post, long-winded intro, flame away.
I'm a 28-yo dude from the the South, but I've been in NYC for about 6 years now. After being in the working world for about 6 yrs, I decided to take a break and go back to school for an MBA while I have a sugar mama lawyer to support me. Now I'm entering my last semester and facing the prospect of going back to cubicle world. While I've got a few exciting opportunities percolating for full-time work, I'm keen on building up supplementary income (those student loans are a real bitch!) and exploring self-employment possibilities. So here I am. I've been in the online world for ages, since running a BBS in the FIDO/VirtualNet days. I worked in IT consulting, telecom, ISP sysadmin then got out of hands-on tech for a while. I also dipped my toes into political campaigning and did a good stint in Big-4 management consulting. Skills-wise, I consider myself a strong writer and can spit out good content once I get myself going. My tech skills are more infrastructure/sysadmin related -- Unix/Linux, Perl, SQL, networking. It's been years but PHP won't be too foreign to me. I have no website development or design background *at all* which will be a stumbling block. My goals are to whittle down our student loans in short order and build up enough supplemental income over the next 2 yrs so that my wife can either go part-time or stop working the billable hours grind altogether. Graduation is in May and I go back to the working world in July. Time and money aren't an issue for now, so I have about 6 months to lay a good foundation. Time to get crackin', and it looks like this is as good a place as any to get my bearings. |

Howdy, you all can call me Justin. I to am on the other side of 50. I am new to this internet marketing thing and trying, like you all to make a buck or three here. I hale from New Mexico, but not always.
I am also helping an older gentleman that is on the other side of 60 who does not get around so good. Seems I spend most of my time helping him instead of being able to learn how to do the internet dollar thing. I am not going to tell you how many kids I have because it is none of your business .It looks like a lot of very nice folks here, if a bit crude so I think I'll stay if they let me. HOWDY one and all. |

Hey all... Glad to be here. 36, married with 3 boys, live in So Cal. Apparently I'm an old fart here but so what. Been in IT, Sales & Consulting since I graduated from VA Tech in the mid-90's. Now I'm running a global IT organization and doing Internet Marketing goodness in my spare time. Started in IM about 6 years ago with an info-product around the consulting field. I got hooked and it's a great little income boost to help us pay for expensive vacations and shit.
I am not a programmer by any stretch. |
