On another note, I failed to mention a couple things in my post. 30 or 60 citations is NOT where we max out. For our clients in the most competitive industries, we are well prepared to submit to just under 1000 business directories, as shown to our lucky reviewers.

Also, as many of you already know, the way this process works is we submit to the directories and they sit on it for 3-4 weeks and then publish it. Following this, it will then be up to Google to crawl the information.

Lastly, we have received a few questions about whether or not we do reviews. Although it is nothing official, we have done them separately for clients in the past, posting to the likes of Yelp, Yahoo Local, Judysbook and various others including niche specific data sources. Have received my review, everything was done quickly and Adam always kept me in the loop about what was going on throughout the process.

Obviously it's too quick to notice any changes as yet, I got a report where it shows my site was submitted to 77 directories, however the list was very extensive and as Adam mentioned, has just under 1k directories.

Will give another update in a few weeks time to notify of any increase in rankings or other changes.

It certainly does. As mentioned these are US and Canadian Directories. Also, we have a slew of UK directories we can submit to for UK listings.

So far:

1. Order was received and delayed due to illness (I have the flu right now, so I understand)

2. When order was done a day or two later my client got 40 emails. I'm not sure if I did not provide an email or if the email is automatically chosen, I would suggest making it very clear which email address to use when purchasing this service. Naive move on my behalf.

3. After reviewing my report I was a little put off to not see exact urls of the submissions - just top level sites with a yes/no/error status. I was also put off to see sites that appeared to be normal directory submission sites. These were things simply not clarified nor asked, so I'm not faulting the service provider. Nor am I questioning the tactics involved - I just expected to see IYP sites like citysearch and kudzu.

So far that's where I'm at. The submissions were done and I was able to review and sample a few that looked good. I will say the customer service is great - very quick communication and when I pointed out a less-than-ideal site that a citation was created on he quickly removed it and credited me another package.

When i started the local listing had 6 citations. Ideally I should see this number increase as Google indexes the citations created by BlueSteele.

I'll check back here every 7 days to document the amount of citations I have at that point in time. I'll also note any dramatic changes in the local/organic merged listings, where a boost in local would result in a higher overall SERP listing.

I feel I owe this to the provider and the community as I received a free review.

Thank you for your fair and honest review. Here are some responses to some of your points:

The 40 emails you received are directories confirming your submission or asking you to confirm your submission. Although no one like a full inbox, you should only ever receive this one email from the directory. Further, it is a good indicator that indeed, we have made the submission for you. Please do not be alarmed if some directories do not sent them to you, they don't all do this. I apologize for not giving you the heads up on this.

The directories do not forward us the page where they eventually will publish the citation to. Unfortunately. all we have to go on is their proven track record of publishing citations in a timely accurate manner. Yes, you will not always find the likes of IYP sites in your report. As a precautionary measure, we do not submit to the the same list every time. With everything we do, we ensure no footprint is left behind and one thing can't be tied to another. Thus, we submit to unique lists each and every time. Our apologies for not making this clear.

We look forward to your findings and appreciate the time and thought you have put into your comment. As a result we will be making some minor modifications to refine our process and product.

To clarify the email issue: You did not ask me what email to use. You used what was on the target local profile. I would have liked the option to use a different email. I didn't really fault you though, as I should have communicated which email address to use right off the bat.

As a quick update, no new citations and no significant ranking changes. It's still really early.

Alright guys, I'm coming in here to leave a review for the citation service.

I've been specializing in local SEO for a while as it is a niche that many people aren't as versed in as normal organic SEO. I used to train VAs to build the citations for me but it was always a pain to keep good VAs around and I was constantly training new ones.

As any good local SEO knows, the bulk of your strategy is going to be creating citations for your clients. But you also need to keep them looking natural, so you have to worry about geo-targeted IPs, etc so it can be even more of a hassle when working with your VAs in other countries to make sure they are using the right proxies and everything else.

This is where Adam comes in. I started outsourcing my citations to him and let me tell you, it's been an awesome experience. He is not a fly by night kind of guy and will be around to get you your citations.

Here are some of the aspects of the service I've been very impressed with:
-Great communication throughout the entire process. Adam makes sure he has all the correct information before starting an order. This is especially important as the citations all need to have the same information for them to be as powerful as possible.
-Beautiful report at the end of the service. I can essentially send the report directly on to my clients as is because it's very high quality.

Some folks may have noticed that our Creature 2.0 thread got closed when I got banned last month. Unfortunately I made a request on two separate threads for review copies, and it was perceived as begging for reviews. Fair enough.

Fortunately, it allowed me to take a step back from what we've been doing and realize that we have totally dropped the ball, and missed out on what I believe is a HUGE GAPING HOLE for local search providers.

We have proudly ranked over 100 + Google Places pages, and I'd say were pretty good at it by now. We study and test a lot and do our very best to stay one step ahead of the almost monthly Local Algo updates. HINT: prepare for one shortly here. Good has brought us pretty far, with close to 50 clients now on maintenance (only 20 were on maintenance last month) and many new clients weekly.

Shortly, we will be releasing Creature 3.0. Although it accomplishes basically the same thing (ranks Google Places pages), it will be less expensive, and hopefully just want you were looking for. Best of all, it is something we can be great at, not just good.

For fear of someone mimicking our idea, I am not able to say exactly what it is yet, but would like to call out some local search people for a couple free reviews. Naturally, I would prefer someone with a decent amount of posts, iTrader etc.

Here's my review from Creature 3.0.

(FULL DISCLAIMER - I am a current client of Adam's and he provided this package as a review copy free of charge.)

Service started on May 19th. Completed on May 23rd.

Speed: 5/5 - Since this is mostly manual work, 4-5 days is pretty good

Communication: 5/5 - I gave Adam my intake form and he asked for anything he needed clarification on

Price: n/a

Quality: 5/5 - Excellent work...all profile information was exactly as stated in my intake form. All citations were clean and professional.

Overall Review: This saved me at least 15-20 hours of mind-numbing labor (which means it probably wouldn't have been done by me at all.) I was surprised at a lot of the extra work that was done beyond basic citations and reviews. As someone who does Local SEO for many clients, this service is definitely a big help.

SERPs (err...maps) Rankings:

Start: Page 2 Letter J (bottom of the second page for Google Places Listings)

Now: Totally off the maps pages.

First, let me say that I am very impressed with this review package that Adam did for me. I spent a few hours last night in Google Maps typing in my KWs (categories + plus the terms “for sale” and “for rent” ) and local towns and cities in my area. My Google places site is basically number 1 now for about 40 miles, if it is not #1 then it is #2. I expect more improvements because this was basically 24 hours after I received my report for the Creature 3.0; only one of the 5 reviews has been scraped and put into my Places Page by Google so far.

My site was averaging 7 clicks a month, since the Creature last week I’ve gotten 10 additional click throughs.

Speed: 5/5 – really fast turnaround time, I received the client intake form Friday afternoon at 3pm. The finished report was emailed to me on Tuesday at 6 PM. I actually held Adam up a day or two while I wrote the reviews for my places page. Adam works weekends, I try not to.

Communication: Adam gets another 5/5; I’ve said this before in another of his threads about how easy it is to contact Adam…. He’s the only vendor on Wicked Fire that I have used that has a toll-free number to call him. He’s client intake form is very detailed and has good descriptions so you probably don’t have to ask Adam any questions when you get the form….it is really well thought-out. The same goes for the final report that he sends out.

Quality: 4/5 and the only reason for the 4 is that I think the 5 reviews that were put into the directories for Google to find should probably use a random name generator or something to make the reviewers names look like a real person. The names that were used looked totally fake, this was one of mine reviewer’s names “hodjetshfiv”. But my Map rankings are great.

If you are an SEO company and looking to hire someone for your Google Places packages you won’t run into any issues with Adam; he’s the most professional service that I’ve used on WickedFire since I joined the forum. He’s prompt, professional and he knows what he is doing; You should have no worries about your company’s name or reputation when you hire Adam for outsourcing your Google Places work.

I'm a long time fan of the Creature Local. It's always dominated GP so when this came out from Adam, I had to test it out.

Time: 10/10 2 days

Quality: 5/5. Client form was easy and nice to have. Report and review looked great. I couldn't be more pleased with it. The reviews are well written. Like stated above, let's spin some usernames or get a few databases of usernames from forums and use those randomly. But overall, it doesn't affect the ranking. Before he was even finished last Saturday, I got a phone call from my client who was ecstatic that they were in position "B" for their primary keyword in just one and a half days. I will definitely work with him again. He is really easy to talk to on skype if you have any questions. He obviously knows what he is doing.

Results: Competitive local keywords for a profitable market that is oversaturated. Site didn't rank for anything but the business name WITH the city. So needless to say, it worked very well. 5/5
