Checkthisout Fly Unlimited airplane travel for a year (standyby)!!

Basically if you know anybody that works for the airline, family and certain individuals special to the employee get awesome travel benefits.

I wanted these travel benefits myself being that I travel all the time. My friend ended up being hired part time recently and I offered him some big bucks for his passes but he ended up giving the benefits to his family. Long story short I ended up being hired as a part time flight attendant and am gonna start next week.

A huge perk is that I can designate 2 people to have unlimited travel on both united and delta for a year. This would be perfect for all the affiliates out there since we pretty much live on a whim and we can take our business anywhere. This is NOT a buddy pass where you pay $300 each time you travel. This is a unlimited travel pass where you pretty much fly standby free.

Anybody that knows how standby works is that you can make a flight anytime and as long as there is room on the airplane you can travel. With preparation for the most part you can plan it out that you will always make your flight due to the ability to see what flights are empty and available. I pretty much flew standby a ton last year on buddy passes and the only time I ever had trouble was traveling right before christmas day. If your planning massive travel you can see how this def can save you money and enable to pretty much spend the whole year traveling efficiently.

I have some interested friends that want to buy the passes but I figure the affiliate community could probably use it alot more and at the same time offer better value for the ticket passes.

PM your offer if interested!!

United is not part of ID-90 this year, neither is Continental. United flight attendants get free flights on United, Continental and Southwest, however their 'travel companion' is only on the first two. United is only giving out one travel companion at a time this year. To become a travel companion, you need to supply your SSN and DL #, and it takes about a month to go through.

United also overbooks the fuck out of it's flights, which makes standby a serious BITCH to use. This is why you constantly hear them saying "we'll give $500 in flight credit to anyone who is willing to take a later flight". As a new flight attendant, your seniority is non-existent, which means you can be bumped by just about everyone. Travel companions are not allowed in jump seats.

Also, to use your United travel companion status, you need to login to the United Intranet to book flights under the flight attendants details. Because it's not ID-90, you can't book at the counter.

Also, as a travel companion, you need to adhere to a strict dress code, otherwise the flight attendant can be fired for it. The dress code prohibits jeans and shorts, and basically makes your flight as uncomfortable as possible.

what airlines as I know that "buddy" passes only apply to employees and not their families. I have friends working with airline companies.

That all sounds about right. I am a companion on US Airways. $100 international first class upgrades are awesome. Flying standby can suck at times, it took me more than an extra week to get back from Europe during the summer once. I believe US Airways now puts an embargo on employee/companion/buddy travel to/from Europe during the summer.

you bring up alot of valid points. the airplane company im gonna work for I believe has benefits with both delta and united. ill def find out more about the specifics when i start.

for me delta has been easy to travel on standy since they have so many flights coming out usually to and from the bigger cities. im flown to asia a couple times on pretty much half full planes and everytime i go international they usually upgrade to first class for free. but united could be worse depending on destination, availability , etc.

when booking everything is usually online and your able to see openings, availability , etc.

and yes you have to dress semi decent and show respect to the airline employees. as a partner, anything disrespectfull or anything crazy will ultimately get linked to me so anybody interested in the pass would have to be emotional stable and willing to dress at least semi decent when flying.

yeah it def has it perks but sometimes due to availability you can be stuck somewhere longer than expected.

i know sometimes the airlines that i'll get passes for have embargo periods but i think its just a couple days a year. ill check up on it.

but yeah def if your flexible, its a great deal. i flew to asia twice by feb of last year. that alone would of cost me 4k + just alone on those two flights. both trips were booked the day before i left.

if you can go with the flow of standby, the flexibility and cost effectiveness is def a plus!

You don't need to be a US citizen, just a resident for tax purposes.

Which airline is giving you benefits? I've got united benefits right now, which suck.

International flights are pretty easy to get spots on. It's the domestic flights which are the bitch.

I believe your paycheck is also taxed for a percentage of the "value" of the travel used by the companion as if it was income too. The person that I am under has mentioned in the past that their paycheck shrinks depending how much I travel.

ummm, United and Delta? Are you with a regional carrier?

Non Revving on both is not a perk that goes between the two airlines if you are a mainline employee and if you are with a regional you are flying at a much lower designation.

Getting on international flights for mainline employees has been a bitch for years.

FYI, my wife is a DAL Flight Attendant with 20 yrs seniority and DAL only gives flight priveledges to immediate family and employee parents and a significant other/gay webmaster.

The pay check is not taxed for the flights taken by DAL. There is a yearly management fee.

ID-90 is being phased out and Z fares are being implemented. They are pretty cool and sometimes cheaper.
