We originally developed our rank tracker as a way for our customers to see the result of our link building efforts. We launched in October 2010, and by popular demand, we decided to make it a standalone product. We launched on AppSumo in June 2011 to massive kudos. I'm interested in the 500 URL/Keyword pairs. Does that mean we only get two words per URL or is it unlimited KWs per URL or? Thanks

Hi, and thanks for your question! How we set it up is based on keyword/URL pairs. That is, yahoo.com for the keyword 'yahoo' in English, United States is one pair. yahoo.com/personals for the keyword 'yahoo' is another pair, as is yahoo.com for the keyword 'yahoo' in English/Great Britain.

Gotcha, so 30 clients with one URL and ten keywords each is 300 pairs, correct? Furthermore, does the tracker differentiate between Yahoo! and yahoo.com (i.e. does it report correctly)?

Yes, correct.

Yes, it will differentiate between www and non-www sites. That script runs once a day. So if you add www.yoursite.com and yoursite.com (not www) is ranked, overnight, it will update it for you. (This currently doesn't work on free accounts, only paid...we're enabling an update to make it work for free accounts next week.)

While I'm playing around with it, how long should it take the first time you load the KW/URL for it to check it?

About 5-10 minutes. We've had several signups today, and it's hard to correlate WF usernames to signups, but if you are the account I suspect you are, your keyword is showing a ranking currently in our system.

Well, in the interest of helping other members, my email is aXXXXXXXXXXXXX.jXXXXXXXXX (long one) and I've inserted the KW for both www. and without www. and it isn't showing a ranking on either one, yet I know for a fact that particular site is ranked high on google. Any idea as to why it isn't showing up (after an hour or so)?

Ah, okay! Your issue was that you typed in yourdomain.com and what was ranking was www.yourdomain.com. We have a script that runs overnight to correct this for paid accounts. It's currently not enabled for free accounts, but will be soon (top of our priority list for next week). I went ahead and manually made the update for you, so you should see yourself ranked by the time our daily emails come around this afternoon.

Great question. Yes, there is. We support every country and language Google does. Just click on "Change country or language" when you add a keyword in. With paid accounts, you can also use our bulk import feature, which will support different countries and languages as well.

Awesome that there is another rank tracker out there but you have the same pricing structure as SeScout so why would people switch? Also you need some cheaper plans with less keywords. Like a 200 keyword plan would be really nice.

Do you have to enter the exact URL you want to track or is the domain enough?

Hi! For free accounts, you need to enter the exact URL. For paid accounts, we have a script that runs nightly that adds in anything in your domain name that's ranking for a specific keyword as a URL/keyword pair into our system. (If you don't want our system to track that URL/keyword pair--say, it's your about page ranking #472 for a term--you can just delete it and our system won't automatically add it back in again.)

Just to clarify some differences between us and other rank trackers:

Some other rank trackers just take your domain name and show you the top-ranked page for your domain.

We do something different (and which, once you see how it works, is IMO far superior!)

For paid accounts only (note this is coming to free accounts next week): We set it up so that each page on your site that is ranking for a specific term is added as a "pair" in our system.

So if you have both yahoo.com and yahoo.com/personals ranking for the keyword "yahoo personals", each of those will be set up as a separate pair and tracked separately.

Accounts are priced based on the total number of *pairs* you have in our system. So if you have an account that lets you track 500 pairs, you can track 500 domains with 1 URL/keyword each, or 500 URLs from one domain, or any combination thereof. The number of "domains" you have in our system doesn't matter. (This makes our pricing far simpler, too.)

Plus, you can see your link building results to a specific page. So if you're building links to yahoo.com/personals but not yahoo.com, they're tracked separately, so you can see the effects of each one.

Like I said above, we believe that this is a far superior way to track rankings. But it takes some understanding to adjust to it, especially if you're used to other rank trackers that don't have this feature.

Just signed up. Bulk Import leads to a server error page. No way I'm adding thousands of keywords or deep link url's myself. Anything I can do?

We also fully support Unicode now, so whatever language you'd like to enter your keywords in, our application can handle it.

I understand 1 url in free version, but only 1 keyword? Real funny. I wouldn't buy it until I test at least 5-10 keywords for a week or two. There is another rank tracker on this forum who is giving 10 free urls & keywords and work perfectly. That is only my opinion.

So far i am very happy with this, its much easier then using market samurai and waiting for it to update rankings and better then the other online alternative so far.
Exactly how often do keywords in the system get rechecked?

You can separate URLs into different groups using our new filtering mechanism (log on to your control panel to see filtering options and implement it.) White labeling is on our to-do list and should be out by the end of the year.

1000 results deep is intensive--it's why most companies refuse to offer it. We'd have to only allow 1/10 of the keywords (or less) to track to 1000 results deep. That's why we charge more for that feature--it requires an army of servers to do what we do.
