Mustread Warning- Facebook closes October 1st 10 Million Fanpages Will Be Affected

Facebook will require a valid SSL Certificate for all pages and applications hosted outside of Facebook. But what does this mean, exactly? How will it change the way you experience Facebook? The answer depends largely on how you use Facebook — as a user, developer, and/or business owner — and what applications you use most. If your custom page isn’t SSL enabled, it will be blocked with the message you see above. People rarely will choose to Continue, which means your Facebook Page will not be visited and you’ve lost the chance to develop a relationship with them.

What does SSL do?

SSL stands for Secure Socket Layer and what it does is encrypt data (for safety) that is exchanged between your device (computer, smart phone, tablet, laptop) and the host server (where your page or app is hosted). To understand this better, think of it as a passport. You show your passport to prove your identity when traveling to other countries. An SSL Certificate proves your identity to user browsers — and it encrypts data.

At its most basic, an SSL Certificate is software that encrypts information moving to and from the holder’s website. This means information exchanged between the site and its visitors can not be intentionally or accidentally viewed by a third party. This includes everything from visitors placing an order to signing up for a newsletter. It’s all about safety for your visitors.

Customer confidence is perhaps the main reason why you need to have a SSL certificate in place on your fanpage. It will allow customers to see and verify that you are taking the protection of their personal information seriously. Of course the average Joe shopping online will notice if a site has a SSL or for that matter what a SSL certificate is! This is why it is important to show and make a point of placing your SSL certificate icon on your fanpage. SSL certificates also give instant security and peace of mind to your customers as your site will show that it is secure either by displaying a padlock or a green address bar.

What do you need to do?

You need to change your page to comply with the Facebook SSL requirement or people will not be able to see your page. It used to be just an option, but smart mobile users (and wireless users) have chosen to only view secure pages to protect their data. As of October 1st, 2011, it will be required by Facebook.

Why is Facebook Requiring This?

Facebook is making an SSL Certificate mandatory for all websites and applications that use Facebook as a platform. Just as with banks, this requirement protects the privacy of the user. This is to protect you from having your information stolen. Hijacking an account used to be difficult, but it is easier than ever due to recent releases of more sophisticated spying programs. So, although your Facebook login is secure, the application or page you are visiting within Facebook (such as games) may not be, leaving you open to hijacking.

There is one potential hurdle. For an SSL Certificate to work, you must have a static IP address. To save space and money, many web hosts issue you a variable IP address instead. Variable IP addresses don’t ordinarily present a problem, but if you do find you need an SSL Certificate, getting the necessary static IP address could be costly.

ORDER INSTRUCTIONS:

2. I will then send you back PayPal address where to send the payment.
3. Send me back the transaction ID and order details and the order is in progress.

REFUND POLICY:
