looks like a desktop search engine to me.
i think there is a free sourcecode that does the same thing on planetsourcecode.com "web spider" or "link ripper" or some crap like that.

If you had actually read the post you would have realized that it is not a 'desktop search engine'.

I have used his software, and have had some good SE results, he's a good guy to deal with.

It does a little bit more than that, I'll break it down into steps:

It downloads the search results for a term from Google and MSN, up to 25 pages deep. You can do standard search commands just like you would on Google or MSN
It scans each page for some "footprints" and common text used on blogs, guestbooks, wikis, etc.
You load the pages from the app ( it will load the URL's in your default browser, and then marks them as "DONE". You place your link manually. I don't do it personally but I have been told Roboform + this kicks ass.

Basically the goal of this program was to find a faster way to gain backlinks. I used to scan the results pages looking for blogs etc, and it took forever. This app streamlines the entire process. Plus you can do multiple terms, rank them all, and do some really fast and effective link building.

Regarding the Lord Brar question: Yes I did write both copies of the program. Lord had some awesome ideas he helped me implement, which are present in this version. You can now save & load lists, etc.
