phpbay & auction2post are completely different products doing completely different things. they work great in tandem. both can make you money.

I wrote up a full review of the Auction 2 Post plugin. So far I love it! Way more powerful than I expected.

I also wrote some code to integrate a countdown timer into the auction 2 post system if anyone is interested.

Ok. I got the deal on Auction2Post, and hosting from Zensix. So, here's a short review, and I'll be willing to field any questions here, or PM.

I should have wrote a reply sooner, but I struggled with eBay a little bit. Basicially, when I applied for eBay designer, it was instant approval. EPN was a different story. I didn't understand what they were looking for on the website address. I bought a new address for testing with A2P. well, they didn't like that. I had to respond, and ask, and then finally fill out a bad questionaire, and instantly got approved.

So. I'm working with it now.

A2P is awesome. Truely super easy to accomplish what I wanted. I did watch the videos shown earlier while I was setting up the campaign, and it walked me right thru it. Basically, super easy to use, and I would definately recommend it.

Zensix. Well, it's hosting, and does what it should. My account was started on a Sat night, and was live about an hour later. I will admit, I'm on a windows server, which I don't particularly care for, but it's just a preference thing. Not saying one is better then the other, but I've always used linux.

The combo of the two has been great so far.

I'm happy with both, and I've not heard anything bad about either, so they both get glowing recommendations.

Just a suggestion (and maybe I missed it in the video) but couldn't you have a drop down list which displays the following and on submit save there network via the trackingpartnercode paramater.

2 = Be Free
3 = Affilinet
4 = TradeDoubler
5 = Mediaplex
6 = DoubleClick
7 = Allyes
8 = BJMT
9 = eBay Partner Network

This still may not be able to use with pjn but you can include affiliates from the other sources without limiting to affilaites to EPN since as far as I know epn is now pretty much impossible to join directly (Well thats what I hear anyway)

Also for some added selling features take a day and do up a report and submit it to Compatible Application Check

Probably not a huge deal with the App check since I'm sure your not using your own API when selling it but you can get it in the Solutions directory for doing so (It may look intimidating but I've got a few apps approved and its quite easy).

P.S. Good job on this I've been using the eBay API for awhile now and I like the way you've worked with it.

Aequitas: man, your RealVMS plugin was the inspiration for this plugin! Thanks for the suggestions above. Currently I build the links (carried over from rss solutions), but I'll look at the API to see if there's a better way to have the aff link returned. I had a drop down for EPN or PJN - but since I never heard from either PJN or an affiliate in EPN via PJN I wasn't able to test it - so I removed it. I'll get those added in the next version along with international support.

I'll definitely be submitting to the Compatible Application Check. That will allow me to give people the option of NOT having to apply for a developer id (although i would still recommend it, since I'll be limiting to fewer than 5000 calls per user).

That means a lot - I'm beaming and grinning ear to ear right now... thanks! </lovefest>

The 5000 call limit on the eBay APIs thats only before you pass the app check, once you pass the app check they boost that limit up to 1.5 million calls per day which is a huge increase.

With the API all you do when you return results is plugin the users campaign id and network id (Those of which I listed above) and then the URLs returned by the APIs are automatically populated with those links.

There is a tremendous amount you can do with the eBay APIs once you start digging into them, one of my newest developments with the API is The Auction House which simply enables sellers to list there eBay auctions on Facebook.

Now the app I linked too isn't suited for what I'm about to say but your's might be, if you know anything about the Facebook API, what you can do with your app is integrate it with Facebook pages as well which will enable your users to automatically have an auction appear on there Facebook page the second its added to there Wordpress post.

I noticed in your video demo you give the users a way to add the auctions to there post and the site is targeted to a particular vehicle, well if the user also has a Facebook fan page setup for that particular vehicle they can show auctions using the API in that Facebook page as well, that way all the fans of that page can see targeted auctions on the topic without ever having to visit an additional website.

Thats just a thought, I'm just tossing around idea's but I think I'm starting to hi-jack your thread a little too much so I'll stop posting these things around here but I'm always looking at tossing around ideas with people when it comes to the eBay API so if your interested hit me up on MSN ( [email protected] ).

I used to have AIM but after a recent computer upgrade I haven't got around to installing it again lol.

sweet ideas man... you're about to get some mail! and just to clarify - my point is that i will still recommend and leave the feature in there for users to apply for and use their own app id (thus getting 5000 calls a day) while I will go about trying to get approved for the 1.5 million calls - but I probably will cap users who opt not to get their own key at 1000 calls a day or something so that I can spread the calls across all who have opted to not get their own.

not worthy of it's own post yet... but 1.0.1 has been released to a2p subscribers for BETA testing. subscription includes lifetime free upgrades / support. so I got that goin' for me, which is nice.

the real cool thing is the a2p theme pack that's now available for download. you can install the theme, and bang - works right out of the box with the auction2post install. check out a few of the themes in action here: http://beetleclassic.com

this is pretty sick - two ways of using it, activate full automation theme or the "do no harm" theme. difference is the automation theme just publishes everything sequentially whereas the "do no harm" version allows you to continue to use the theme as you would normally, but if it sees it's an a2p post, it does all the image resizing and everything that you need for the post to play nice with others.

Added the following features to the v1.0.1 release (with more planned before the 1.1 release).

Yea the plugin rocks and the templates make it even better..Have you thought about amazon any doing the same thing or even intergrating it with this so that you can mix epn and amazon stuff for even more unique content

yeah there are some pretty cool things that I'm doing on my sites right now showing dual products - be sure to read the api terms you agreed to when signing up - you need to keep that content separate somehow... but a <hr/> can do that... am I going to make it a part of auction2post? that i don't know. might make a complementary product that uses the amazon api but works w/ a2p and the two can share info...

Yea didn't mean to put it in the same post. I use a amazon plugin to add posts along with the auctions so you get 2-3 auctions and 2-3 amazon posts. Mixes the site content up so you get more content as they have different descriptions than the auctions makes your site more unique. Also makes it so goog does not look at it as a auction site only becomes more of a ecomerce type site.

I'm not sold on these Amazon content creators - of course I'm biased - but for every one product you have one description - but w/ eBay for every one product (at least every one product that amazon would be selling) you have multiple - often dozens - of different unique product descriptions.

Main issue is that anyone can get into Amazon aff program and eBay has been more difficult as of late. Grr. Not that it's impossible to get into ePN - lots of people doing it daily.
