This should've happened a month ago, I apologize.

I posted a survey about a month ago. Everyone who filled out that survey will get an email from me in about a week - don't purchase MyReviewPlugin (cause you might get it free!) if you're interested in it until after you receive an email from me. If you can't wait a week, send me an email and I'll let you know what's up.

MyReviewPlugin 1.0

I was glad to see WPReviewEngine 4.0 come out last week with a handful of new features that I had already implemented in MyReviewPlugin. Made me feel good about being able to challenge the pack - don't get me wrong though, if you own one of the existing products, unless it isn't doing well for you, its probably good enough. Both WPRE and WF Review are great products.

Short-list of Features
  • Everything offered by the other plugins.
  • Bayesian "intelligent" ratings and 5 other post ordering methods.
  • Completely 100% configurable comparison tables.
  • Complete Google Maps integration with no API key required.
  • Location-configurable automatic embeds (compatible with ANY WordPress theme!)
  • Autoinstallation of 7 other plugins in just one click
  • All three major microformats supported (show star ratings in Google search results)
  • In-WordPress YP Importing
  • ImportMan, CommentMan and Dr. Link.
  • The ability for non-designers and non-programmers to customize every little detail, down to the amount of padding on the cells in comparison tables.
  • 45-day Money Back Guarantee.
  • 100% Unencoded - NO OTHER PLUGIN CAN SAY THIS.

To demonstrate its power a bit, I've set up 5 demo sites all without touching a line of code using freely available themes (or included ones) and customizations all available right within the administration area. I raced to set them up, timing myself, and 5 sites took me just under 1 hour (all the content came from databases/CSVs via Import Man).

Review Copies. As I've already sent out a large number of testing copies, I'm hoping to have some reviews posted on their own. However, I will give out review copies to a handful of users who actually contribute to WickedFire. Here's the deal though: if you request a review copy, I expect you to actually dig through and play with the script and then post a review within 72 hours. If you don't think you can do that, please don't take me for a ride.

p.s., I'm pretty tired doing all these final touches and what not getting everything ready to go, so if anything is weird / doesn't make sense on the website, please let me know. I'm about to head to bed for the night so I'll likely respond to everything tomorrow.

You realize you probably just set off god only knows how many google alerts letting them know you're openly ripping their content and selling it right? Not to mention advertising their trademarked name as part of a feature in teh product....
For a company that routinely adds dummy data to their site so that they can catch smalltime scrapers, you're gonna be a field day for these search monkeys.

good luck kid.

A suggestion re: rating/stars

Have them light up when users mouse over them (sequentially not individually).

Aye! Must've introduced that bug just before the final sign off. Its fixed now. :-) Thanks random.

Mark.

NO MORE REVIEW COPIES. I have now sent out 9 review copies (plus the testing copies I had already sent out) and received some positive feedback via email already. You guys can expect some reviews posted here within the next day or so, I imagine.

And I'm already starting work on 2.0, so if you have any suggestions - let me know!

This plugin is the shit. Detailed review coming in next couple days.

(Hint: Get this and set up a couple sites before Jan. 1st. Preferably around diet/ fitness stuff. New Years Resolutions + MyReviewPlugin = $$$)

I just want to get the start of my review on here. I'm not completely done reviewing the plugin in it's entirety yet, but I've played around with some of it's features I'll list out in this thread.

I first want to say Mark has been very very responsive with any questions I had about the plugin. He has thoroughly answered any questions that have come up along the way. Out of the box, this plugin did exactly what was promised in its feature list. I was able to get a review site up with only a couple clicks. Not to mention, I think the auto comment engine is wicked. You would really have to take the time to write out the sentences to make them sound legit, but this is the first time I have seen this feature in a review plugin. I also liked how there are three themes pre-bundled. This is pretty convenient of you want a review site out there pronto.

I got my ratings setup pretty fast with really no trouble at all. The plugin is pretty well documented if you need to reference it for anything. There's also a lot of little tool tips in the back end that helped me along the way.

I'm still going to be testing a few more of the features within the next couple of days. I'm going to have to hand it to you Mark, you did a really good job on this one. You can't beat the price for ALL of the features that come with this puppy.

Awesome, thanks a lot for the positive comments AllBizNiz and abroms. If you have any suggestions make sure you let me know (preferably by email!) and I'll make sure they get implemented!

If anyone else has any questions, feel free to send an email my way and I'll get you all informed. :-)

Mark.

I just sent out all the winning copies of the data collection form. I sent out 7 (out of 30 applicants) and then realized that was only 23% and I promised a 25% chance of winning, so I sent out three more! Hopefully some of the winners can step forward and say hello. :-)

Anyone who didn't win, and had good feedback to offer received an email to discuss their feedback again. I really appreciate the people who took the time to fill out that form, as it really helped me shape MyReviewPlugin 1.0.

Chris, sure can - just send me an e-mail when you want to do that.

pax, I'm not sure why that would be. There's no restrictions / IP bans or anything... could you maybe have loaded it during the pre-release contest time and cached the blank page that used to be there? Force a reload or try clearing your cache. If that doesn't fix it, can you please let me know via PM?

Here's my review of this sick plugin. Mark gave me a copy to test out and I spent some time setting up a site and messing with all of it. First, a few things in general:

  • This plugin does a shitload of stuff. Basically everything you could want a review plugin to do, it can do.
  • Mark is the man. He's really quick to respond to emails and kind when he does.
  • If you find a bug (I doubt there are many/any left), sending Mark an email gets it fixed very, very quickly.

Now, you might be asking what this plugin can do. I'm going to divide this into two categories: automatic and manual. Let's start with automatic.

There are three minor plugins that come with this: import man, comment man, and link man. Import man is the most useful for automatic content. There are two sides to him: the CSV side and the yellowpages side. If you give import man a CSV file (hint: like the ones you can get from merchants on CJ), he can import all of the info quickly, and based on a highly customizable template, he posts everything up. Mark did a fantastic job on the whole plugin, but I like this the most. It can strip HTML tags from the CSV, it can make the template however you want, it can tag the post based on something in the CSV... the list goes on. And then there's the yellowpages side of import man. Based on a yellowpages query, import man can make posts for every yellowpages page. This is great for database sites that will bring link juice to your money sites. (Oh, and the posts can be drip posted/ posted in the past, of course)

There's even more to the automation part of MyReviewPlugin, though. Comment man can post highly customizable comments on the posts on your blog using JetSpinner syntax. These comments can also include ratings if you want. Tons of options to choose which posts/what gets posted.

Then there's link man. He lets you cloak your links easily and do keyword replacement. Works like a charm, and the keyword replacement can be a huge boon to your site.

Last thing in automation: retroactively add editor ratings to all of your posts. So you've used import man to import thousands of records, and now you want them all to be rated. Fire up bulk modifications and set some criteria and you're good to go. They're now all rated. If you do all this (import man to get posts, comment man to post comments, link man for some in-text monetization, and bulk modifications for editor ratings), your site WILL look legit and like it's been up forever and gets a lot of traffic.

Appearance of authority = $.

The other side of MyReviewPlugin is the manual side. It lets you add editor ratings to posts you make to make them seem more professional. hReview, RDFa Review, etc. support makes you seem legit in the SERPS. Letting users add ratings makes them feel like you care about their opinion. Rating groups allows you to select if you're posting about hard drives or hosting (example), and the categories you rate change based on that. Google maps integration, comparison tables, and much more are all available. This plugin does everything.

That's all I've got to say for now. If you need help, email Mark. He's great about answering stuff. And if you want some ideas/ extra help, PM me to get my affiliate link and I'll help you with whatever you need.

Abroms, thanks for the awesome feedback! If you need anything at all, let me know!

Pax, thanks for checking that out for me.

I've given a few moderators review copies now, maybe we'll see some feedback from them soon. That is if you need more feedback to make your decision. :-)
