That's right folks. Now, I'm going to speak personally here for a minute. One thing that irritates me the most is that when hosting consumers find a provider that actually appeals to them...

"Always" is a long time. I'm no legal expert but this might need to be quantified to be legally binding.
Does this also guarantee that a) Volsh will never cease trading and b) the company will not be sold (including clients)? I haven't used you and I'm staying out of the Hosting Wars, but this "always" claim sounds like a lot of the "unlimited" claims. If I'm wrong and this is genuine then please make it legally binding and clarify exactly what this guarantee covers. Maybe get your lawyers to draw up something like: Always be with Volsh: Volsh guarantees not to cease trading or to sell accounts either separately or included with the same of Volsh as an ongoing business for a period of 99 years. Should Volsh fail in this guarantee, each client will receive compensation to the sum of $10,000. This is personally underwritten by Volsh directors [names] and cannot be superseded or replaced under any circumstances (including, but not limited to: sale of company, death). I'm no lawyer and that's probably still too vague but just trying to get some clarification as to what this guarantee actually covers as it seems to be your USP yet I don't see it mentioned in the Terms of Service.

I thought first it was b/c of the shitty internet here in Thailand, but after trying it with proxies today I'm sure there is a problem with my account. Can't contact support since I don't know the support client area password nor the name of my non-existent pet to reset the pw. Oddly enough these types of experiences are what I go through anytime I try to use a "cheaper" host.
Nothing against this fellow or his company, but I can count on one finger how many times I've gone down with higher end vps plans. The lower end companies would require me to get more fingers and toes.

Support seems to have gone from very good to pretty shabby in the space of a week.
Their "24/7" online chat support hasn't been working for a good while now and responses to support tickets are getting worse. Sadly they've just lost me as a customer. I'd rather pay an extra $10 a month to Knownhost and know I was going to get exceptional support and uptime. |

Damn my dedicated server is down with them to. Fuck me. Luckily I am still testing the waters with these guys and haven't sent too much traffic. I'm sure the 300+ FB ads I launched tonight will all get rejected when they can't reach my landing page.
Well when I say down I mean I can't access it, so it's probably up in theory but their network is probably down. Still fucks me over. |

sorry to bump a month old thread but i was curious did volsh go downhill and stay downhill or was this recovered?
I found this thread searching for a decent vps hosting. I emailed volsh inquiring about their vps but haven't had a reply in a few days (which is an automatic negative IMHO), added with this thread I just wanted to confirm if i should just stay far away or not? |

Heh did they go downhill? Meh still a sour taste in my mouth from my last post and today my dedicated server has been down since 8am (when I checked it this morning) and their live chat is 'offline' and no one answered the phone when I called.
I think their 24/7 support is intended to be the bot that auto replies saying your trouble ticket was received. I really need to ditch these guys. Who else can give me a dedicated box for $150 a month? |

I just got off the phone with James at Volsh (6 hours later) and apparently this issue was because I got busted by the Massachusetts Attorney General's office regarding a DMCA takedown notice. All the same usually hosts should contact you about the issue...

James London is unprofessional and its no wonder his company went under
WOOOOOOW!
I had been attempting to receive a refund from Volsh after I overpaid them for $50 on my last invoice and I just assumed they were billing my PayPal but I had a PayPal autopay setup for the original amount. When I decided to cancel with them I submitted a trouble ticket (Once again their online support was down...even though they promised 24x7 support!!!) requesting for a refund and politely saying I will not be continuing services with them. At no point did I go 'ITS BECAUSE YOU FUCKING SUCK'. I login and see the ticket closed a day later with no responses to me....OK then. I open a dispute with PayPal. Volsh rejects the dispute because they for some reason thought I was asking for a full refund on services...which I could have but being the nice guy I am I cut my losses and say whatever I still got service for this month, even if its not what I was promised, so I just want my overpayment returned. This was their actual response:

I hope this guy's name gets does get dragged through the mud so in future dealings people can hear how he let a ton of us down and then wouldn't even refund a very legal request for return payment. I am assuming his 'slander' was posts I made on WF agreeing with others of the low quality of service. James, run your company instead of reading posts on Wicked Fire, which by the way did a good job at representing how bad your service ended up for several of us. I will be doing a fully featured blog post where I will share my invoices/paypal screens/twitter screens/etc so anyone googling this guy can see his level of quality. Next step, calling my credit card company to get a refund, PayPal told me this guy already closed up his account and disassociated his accounts so there is nothing I can do unless my CC demands the money back from PayPal. What a hassle. |
