This plugin is really awesome and kicks the shit out of other wordpress review plugins, especially the database import which has so many new and amazing features I can't list them all.

Note: This is the one started by bb_wolfe and then abandoned but it is now fully back on track. The new owner is a developer and does great support, there are even more improvements in the pipeline too.

Seriously, this is better than all the others on the market.

Back about 4 months ago I gave a long rant comparing the three big ones that were out at the time.....That was either on here somewhere or on the old WFreview support forum. Either way what WFreview has that none of the other do is the way in which it pulls in, parses and manipulates your data during the import. None of the others can compare in speed or in resource usage... which if you've got a HUGE database, will end up doing one of two things: Killing your site everytime you attempt to upload it + it eventually runs out of resources, or you have to break it down into a shit-ton of smaller imports and it'll take you all day. My biggest gripe with version 3 was actually the way in which it looked. It had all the template hooks in there, they just weren't being used by the plugin unless you spent the time to make your own theme. Just upgraded the sites that I have which still use it + noticed that not only is there a better templating section build-within the plugin's backend, but he's including three unique themes for free which give you 3 completely diff types of database driven websites all based on which one you use. So where the reviewengine plugin had a leg-up on wfreview, it now just got bitch-slapped back in it's place.

brentdev, I guarantee you MyReviewPlugin's ImportMan, WP Review Engine's CSV Importer and WF Review all use the exact same code to import data. Check this out:

I'm also 50% certain that CSV Importer and Import Man splits imports in to multiple pieces to prevent killing your site. What may have been true 4 months ago is definitely not true anymore.

I'm an affiliate of both WP Review Engine and MyReviewPlugin, so I won't go in to detail on the rest of the feature comparison, as I don't want people to think I'm shitting on this thread because I have something to gain. I removed the affiliate links for both of them from my signature a few months ago and don't really stand anything to gain from this post.

i downloaded the review plugin will give it a shot in the next couple days and leave my comments as i also have couple other review plugins

Just downloaded, and tried it out on one of my sites; here are my comments

1) Sign up and download (7 day trial) was easy and fast - didn't have to go through any verification of signup (which many sites try to do.) License generation was also good.

2) Installation instructions were very clear; was able to install with no problems.
> Minor hitch; the installation document doesn't make it clear that you have to create categories for the ratings; there is a mention in trouble shooting, but would have preferred the configuration to also be clearly documented...
> Personal grouse : Why does the clicking on the WFreview menu option take you to "support and bug fix history" as the first option? Typically, "Help" in most cases is the last / right most option. As a typical non-techie customer-to-be, I'm more interested in getting to action, and looking for help later if I need it...
3) Once activated, the plug in is straightforward to use; suits my requirement. Of course, I don't have too many posts up or comments yet; but this looks like a nice thing to have.

Now to see whether I'm within the first 10...
