Fuckyeah My first physical product. Me = stoked.

So - I run a pretty large Call of duty forum, as a side project/hobby. Recently I've been speaking with a company who custom makes controllers for xbox, etc. etc.

Well, turns out he's been making a controller for my site and is offering to hand it over to give away in tournaments, to sell for profit share, etc.

I thought it was pretty cool, and I figured I'd share my first physical product with my 2nd home (wf, duh.)

1st image is the design (just the shell)

2nd image is an example of the buttons he will be putting into our controller, it will also have some programming modes and fancy flashing LED lights for effect. I personally love the buttons.

What do you guys think? I thought it was pretty generous of him.

The design he said is in the "beta" stages - I'm excited to see what else he can whip up.

I've never played COD, but my brother is into it and it seems like the following is not only huge, but maniacal. I like the controllers and think you can do well.

You may be on to something, consider contacting Gamestop about them selling the controller.

Yeah I've been thinking a lot about further offline marketing for them. The only problem is they are all hand made, each one is unique. Mass production I feel could be a bitch. We will see what happens after the release of the first few to the public! I'm excited to say the least!

??

Step 0: Gauge the market - do a poll on your forum, for example
Step 1: Contact chinese controller ripoff manufacturer
Step 2: Let them silkscreen 'em bitches and make the bullet buttons
Step 3: Get a bunch delivered for cheap $$$
Steep 4: Profit

Wow, the bullet buttons are awesome. I definitely second the suggestion about having them mass-produced in China and trying to sell the line to Gamestop or someone similar. Are those actual spent casings or plastic molds?

I think the buttons are really cool, but I'm not sure about the yellow/orange/red controller.

There's gotta be a cooler camo pattern that's not the cheesy brown/green one either that you can put on there.

Nice! I second emp's suggestion to have that stuff produced in China or somewhere in bulk for cheap, then find a distribution channel to rake in some profits.

Thats pretty cool! Back in the day, I used to buy PS2 controllers that were modified specifically for playing Socom 2. Made reloading mid-fire a thing of the past, and probably made the dude a boat load of cash.

Not a bad idea. Silk screening is easy from what I hear too.

Oh yeah All hand painted, he usually charges $249.99 per fully assembled controllers which includes fancy LED lights, rapid fire modes (with 8 modes) and all the fancy buttons, and a lot of people eat his work up, so hopefully they do the same with these!

Those are spend 9mm casing, making it a bit more badass.

Oh yeah for sure, like I mentioned, this is the first one made for my gaming forum, so it was a trial. He can literally do any pattern, design, or camo thrown at him. So we'll see how the next few turn out

I think they have an open trademark with all of his designs, but I'm really not sure man.

DUDE! Socom used to be my shit! Ninja jumping for life! (if you don't remember what ninja jumping was in socom, then I probably just sounded really dumb lol)

Yeah this company includes 8 different firing modes in each fully assembled controller, so it's pretty sick.

I'll keep this thread updated with progress on the controllers and different designs and what not.

Here is another picture of it in the light btw:
ProModz | Plixi
