I hate to say it but..

I couple months ago I paid Anthony Bullock, a great designer and vbulletin skinner, $500 down payment for my forum project. He seems like a great guy. On mother's day weekend he got salmonella poisoning from a restaurant. I didn't hear from him for a while and then he got back to me with an apology and a bit of work he had done while on meds that helped him keep food down.

Last I heard was that he had a doc appointment that day at 5pm, and it's been weeks since then. I'm really worried and salmonella poisoning is REALLY serious.

I hope he is recovering.

Right now though, I'm out $500 and may never get it back. I also don't know who I can use for my vbulletin skin project. Does anyone have a recommendation, and even better an update on Anthony?

Ask around in there for him, a lot of those guys know Anthony, and he goes in there occasionally. Just don't seem desperate

If this is true, I really hope Anthony is alright. I've known him for a while, and he's a great guy.

However, as a freelance designer myself, I can safely say that most of us have come up with some really insane excuses for not working, some people go to the point of faking family deaths. I'm not saying that this is what's going on with Anthony, but it happens.

Yeah, I dunno. I hope I hear from him but I probably won't. I just thought it was weird that he showed me some work that he'd done on my project. I mean, why go to the trouble of doing that instead of just saying he was sick and then burning me.

I really doubt he is lying. He did seem like a good guy and he was recommended to me by a few other people who had worked with him.

oh well...

hes not dead, he was just on msn the other day, he got into a car accident, his blog had the details but while recovering his domain expired.

Ahhh just had a revealing chat with some friends of Anthony in CWD. Anthony needs to grow up. All he had to do was respond to one of my 20 something emails I've sent in the past 1.5 months and say he couldn't do the work yet. No big deal. But no... he's hiding from me instead.

you should just contract your work through getafreelancer.com you can put your money into an escrow account, and release it to them when the work is finished. I think it only costs $5 if someone accepts your job

Yeah man escrow is a pretty awesome and cheap 3rd party system to use, it better protects you against people running off with your hard earned cash.
