Hi there, just wondering if anyone has any tips on how to do Vegas on as little as possible? Don't have much. (But I'm going!) I've never been before, so I won't be able to get comped right? So far, for flights and hotel, I've managed to get it for about £600 ($1000). In a decent hotel, 4*s. Not the Wynn, but still decent. Any ideas? I.e. would it be cheaper to fly to say, cali, and take a bus/taxi to vegas?
Thanks P.s. Poker tits for your trouble

Dont mean to burst your bubble, but you may think that its possible to go on a shoe string budget. Unless you have a mom holding your hand, thats gonna be an impossible task. You will eventually land up using your card and mind you, when the time comes to repay that, you will be making a few calls. Take some extra dough with you. Pamper yourself. Youre not going there every year are you?

Yeah, I was surprised too when I saw room prices. Over here, that would probably only buy you a room in some cheap bed&breakfast.
Oh yeah, anyone know if there'll be any problems bringing over a few cubans in my suitcase? Not many, probably max 5. Just I know your laws are a bit gay about that. |

I don't remember the last time I wasn't asked for ID when checking into a hotel. If you're staying in a resort room at the Wynn, you have to walk through the casino to get to the elevators. I believe that if you have a tower suite you can almost avoid the degenerates, but not really. If you're concerned about it, it's probably worth checking out some non-casino hotels that will take 18+.

No, it shouldn't be a problem. The chances are they'll never check your suitcase at the airport. When I have visitors from Europe come they always have a few Cuban cigars with them, and there has only been a problem once; the cigars were confiscated and nothing else. YMMV of course, so don't call me up for bail money please.

) And tbh, I'm not that bothered about the casinos. Gambling's 100% legal over here, anyway. I'd like to get in to ASW, but if I don't, there's always the parties. |

Hope you got a CC that matches your ID
![]() Also you CAN bring cubans in, buy them from the airport. Your not a resident, you'll be fine. I got stopped, searched and they checked etc and let me keep mine because I wasn't a resident. Duty free smokes are super cheap too. You probably won't be able to check into any hotel yourself if your under 18. If your adamant on going, use Expedia to do Flight + hotel combo, usually works out mad cheaper than doing either seperate. Edit: good luck trying to buy smokes at the airport haha, 18+ brah. They might take any smokes off you if you get stopped and 'randomly' searched at the border control though.

They can't tell the difference between a cuban and a dominican if you don't identify them as such. Just bring over a couple for the trip and not a whole box. I use to bring some back once a week from Juarez when I lived in El Paso.

as far as the clubs, its almost a lock you arent goign to get in unless you have a really good fake id and other documents to back up your fake.
you can do lv for cheap tho. there are cheap bars on the center strip that sell drinks for a buck. you can also play the penny slots and tip your waitress a buck or 2. order drinks on the rocks so they dont water you down or drink beer. for food, you can go to the older cheaper casinos on the north strip or downtown and eat like a king for cheap |

Hopefully I will, I mean there's no point in them chucking me onto the streets when they could get money out of me. (hopefully) Also, hopefully the Fake ID will work for that, hopefully they're not too stringent on that. Cheers for the expedia tip, I've just looked, and a decent hotel and flight is £540, not bad Yeah, I think maybe bringing them from home might be the better option if I do bring them. Quote:

Isn't that a definition of importing with the intent to sell?
I believe if they see you have 3 or 4 personal ones, it woulnt be a problem.

If you want the cheapest room on the strip and just want a place to crash in the middle of the action then check out the Imperial Palace
You can almost always get a room for <$90 on the weekend (weekdays is like $49) Treasure Island and the Flamingo Go rooms are also decent choices for a cheap place in the middle of the strip where you can walk to the Wynn without needing a cab.

cheapest way to do vegas?
Check out the Four Queens they have $29.00 rooms. Every rooms got a flatscreen TV and theyre pretty nice. It is on Fremont ST, which is the old vegas strip.. so you're gonna have to take a Taxi to the main strip for shows and shit, but hell - you're saving a bunch of money on reservations.. and hell, Fremont ST is pretty fun. The western-most five blocks of Fremont Street are covered by a 90-foot high, barrel-vaulted canopy, housing 12.5 LED display units. Every hour beginning at dusk and lasting under after midnight, the canopy erupts in light and sound. It’s one of the most popular attractions in Las Vegas…and it’s free.

How will they know it's contraband if it's in a checked bag? It's not like he's smuggling coke.

The weather was really cold and there were buckets of rain, so if you're coming from the UK this is really not going to be a weather break in the sunshine for you. Last year at the Rio was a bit rough for those of us not driving because it was so far off the Strip. The new location is definitely a plus. I won't be going to LV this year (although shooting for ad Tech SF in April). Have fun with your hookers and blow.

I forgot to add that most hotels charge extra for WiFi access, so if you rely on connectivity for your work, WiFi will be an extra expense. I connected at the Starbucks across the street from the Sahara on Paradise Avenue, and the big McDonald's on Las Vegas Boulevard had free WiFi as well (I think it was by the Riviera).
There are very few free amenities in Las Vegas, unfortunately. |

I always take the bidding route on my hotels; 4 star and up. I've gotten 4* as low as $45 a night. See winning bids and do the same.

Expedia hotel + flight works out cheaper than flight alone, so for him to go to a cheap hotel directly will end up costing more.
Oh btw, your real id - hows your DOB read? America does MM//DD/YYYY so you might come out as 18
