Panasonic SDR-H85K - Digital Camcorder with 80GB Hard Drive and 2.7" LCD Monitor

It's not HD, but it got 78x optical zoom, which i like very much.
Also, it's kinda free, I got some credit card points that i didn't know about :)

I'm looking for outdoor camcorder with great zoom and i can;t find any HD camcorder. I guess they r not invented yet :)

Any suggestions?

What does 78x "enhanced zoom" mean? Is it just a fancy way of saying digital zoom? I don't think a tiny little lens like that can do the equivalent of a 2625mm lens without some sort of digital trickery involved.

Personally I'd rather have a HD camcorder with 32x or 40x zoom than something non HD.

What's your budget? Have you looked at the 2011 models that are coming out now?
 
If you can spend about $1300, get the canon 7d and you can do awesome things with it. Like shoot music videos:

I was just looking for a way to spend 50k points on my Citi card, but adding few more for better buy wouldn't hurt.
I'll look for something HD with 32x zoom.

Thats what i was thinking. I already ordered Nokia N8. So, thats why i want something with great zoom or maybe i'll go with some underwater camera. Kodak Playsports or something similar.
I don't get why people buy iphone when you have Nokia.
 
Digital zoom is garbage. It essentially blows up your pixels which actually lowers the resolution of your video. If you want high quality you don't ever use digital zoom anyway.

Have you ever tried shooting video on a Canon DSLR?

I've tried it a couple of times on my 5D mk2 and it SUCKS. No autofocus. You have to manually focus everything. The reason they need to essentially turn it into a movie camera is so someone can be dedicated to focusing the damn thing.

So if you're shooting a movie and have time to do proper setups, are following a script, etc. then yeah a DSLR is an awesome idea and very cheap compared to the traditional options. If you just want to walk around taking video on holiday or of your kids then it sucks balls.

If your making youtube videos of yourself talking about how you've been had cases, it may be ok so long as you and the camera don't move.

Because Nokia's last 3 versions of Symbian fucking suck cock.

Nokia was cool when the only other competitor was the Moto Razr.
