Just received an email from the adwords team informing me of the following.

We've re-reviewed your site and found that it no longer violates our Landing Page and Site policies.

Great you say....except..
a) I've not owned that site for over 18 months and
b) I've not run a campaign to it for over 2 years and
c) that Adwords account has been closed for near on 12 months

And the kicker is the current site is parked page full of ads.

Them PhD guys and gals are sure on top of it...

Hell, I had one of my Adwords accounts banned for over a year because of "poor quality campaigns", i.e, they didn't like my landing pages, and I still get random emails from the rocket scientists over there to the effect of, 'We just wanted to let you know that your account may be banned if you don't increase the quality of your campaign xxxxxxxxx'. Like the OP, this was for campaigns that I hadn't even run for over 2 or more years.

So I emailed them back asking if my account was no longer banned, and was that the reason I was getting emails saying that my account might be banned. They responded saying, "no you're account is still banned, but if you don't up the quality of your future campaigns, you might be banned". WHAT THE FUCK DOES THAT EVEN MEAN. How retarded are those douches at the Adwords cave anyway? So I guess I'm going to be double or even triple banned if I don't get my shit together. Fucking hell.

my experience with adwords is when I realized that google was nothing like what i thought it was. That one incident and the causes for it (their shit technology) and their responses to me over it changed my entire understanding of Google.

Maybe Adwords works like quantum physics, you're banned and not banned at the same time. It's not until you email them and they observe your account that it then flips it to a banned state.

Google has really gotten crazy lately with bans. They banned a friend recently for nothing more than a simple business type autoblog - as if for copyright infringement.
