Sogay Managing Multiple WP Installs/Updates?

So the number of Word Press powered sites I have is steadily climbing into the 100's and I need a practical way to keep them all updated/managed. So far I've found this site: Manage Multiple WordPress BlogsGAY|GAYManageWP.com but I'm not 100% secure about the idea of using something not hosted on my own server. Any recommendations or experiences with other services/applications that can handle installing new Word Press installs, updating current ones and managing them all? Thanks in advance

Hey Eric,

I tried a few out there, one even sold at clickbank, but these things usually do have the problem with being hosted on someone else's server.

Fuckabunchathat.

I now use Zoho Creator (very user intuitive) and just store everything in the same cloud that a lot of fortune 500 companies and the government uses. -Great security there, (https) and everything of course is backed up far better than you could.

Best of all, if you 'Bot, it's simple enough to have your bot access these databases... I have something like 30 different bots now that both start off aquiring variables about my websites from zoho when they start up, and then depositing new info into zoho when the bot's finished with its' run. It is kinda like I have every variable that every bot has ever used available to every new bot I make automatically.

Edit: Oh yeah and it's free for normal usage!

Cheers,
Luke

i made this post on bluehat awhile ago that basically shows you a simple tweak to make one wordpress install operate as many different installs as you want.
Blue Hat SEO-Advanced SEO Tactics » Addon Domain Spamming With Wordpress and Any Other CMS

it uses the same install and files but you just put in a switch for the databases so anytime you update one wordpress it updates all of them. Yet each one appears like its own install, holds its own plugins/settings etc.

Looked into it but I'm still not 100% sure how it all works/differs from "normal" WP, any input on it? I couldn't find any specific info regarding it + managing multiple installs but maybe I searched for the wrong thing, thanks man.

Thanks Eli, I think I saw this before but got scared away I'm re-reading it rigiht now, might be what I need. Although I do wish there was just something like managewp.com that was self hosted AND free.

Talk to ManageWP.com - They have a hosted version you can put on your home server.

The hosted version hasn't yet been announced but it seems like it's ready

If you need source code, it'll cost a ton (this is for corporations), but if you just want to run it on the server, they have a monthly fee.

I'm in discussions with them over a 20-seat license. Basically waiting for them to send me a PayPal subscription link or something and I'm ready to rock. They seem friendly and responsive.

Thanks Berto, actually sent them an email--that's all I really need, no source code.

Check out WPmanagerDX, sounds like it would handle everything you need.

Link Farm Evolution can also be used to manage blogs, although it has less functionality than WPmanagerDX.
