I've been thinking and looking for a good niche. Not for an affiliate product to market ... just a niche that isn't over saturated. I have a theory that if I find a niche in which the majority of existing competitors don't offer an affiliate program, it may be a signal that the space is not too competitive. Its difficult to seperate the wheat from teh chaffe though - it might also just signal that there isn't a lot of opportunity in the space.

Anyone have any thoughts/advice on this?

I think wheat is a good niche honestly. Chaffe isn't a bad niche either though.

All the ones released in January are taken.

LOL, you want to go into a niche where there are already products and affilaites. If there is noone selling anything, there is no market = no money. The guy in the video above has more brains than you.

Perhaps what I'm saying is not immediately obvious so let me build a bridge for you:

If all a person has to do is click the "affiliates" link at the bottom of every brand's website in a vertical, then competition will be high and margin compression for affiliates will be even higher.If you find something where a person has to do a little more work to establish relationships and sourcing to enter a vertical, competition will be lower.

Does anyone care to honestly discuss this with me, or is everyone too busy looking for bullshit videos and clever jokes? Am I in the wrong place for this kind of stuff? I feel like I walked into a college dorm and ya'll are too busy drinking beer to think about the exam tomorrow.
