Guys! I am about to place my first classified ad for a Full Time "Data Entry" employee to do the grunt work of Internet Marketing [submissions etc.] and Manually Updating the Sites.
Since I am located in India so I can hire full time employees at virtually no cost. The average pay of a data entry guy is about $75 a month but I am offering $100 a month plus incentives -- incentives are something not really heard for this job profile in India -- so I really should be able to attract better variety of people. But the question which I have for ya all is -- What should I keep in Mind When I hire my first full time employee? I have made a small list below, can you add more to it from your own experiences? Don't ever forget that they are an employee. Some people get all friendee-friendly with their employees and then the employees slack off.
Never be afraid to tell an employee he's not doing his share or what he gets paid to do. Do make sure to keep their work limited to job description tasks at least 95% of the time, if you can't then what you need to hire is an personal assistant and not a regular employee. Learn to delegate and trust that things will get done correctly, if they fuck up once it's ok, twice the same mistake? they're fired. Reward good judgement and profits, so for example if you had one employee that in 2 months has helped you double your ROI on certain things reward the fucker, and not some 2 bit shit either, an employee that feels valued is one that will treat his job like he is a partner/owner. Pay fair, they aren't stupid and they will learn your business model and rinse repeat on their own a lot quicker if you pay crap wages. I dunno I will think of more. My family has a retail business and I constantly have to deal with and manage employees.

One of the things you need to do before hiring is work out what happens when they need firing.
How much damage can they do to your business with the information you'll give them ?

But yeah, with a few grand a month you can be well off. Still, the place to go now would be Bulgaria, not India. Pay peanuts for a house now, it'll be worth $$ within 20 years, maybe less. |
