No idea why I've never found this forum before.. been a long time lurker on the warrior forums but this forum seems much better moderated.
Anyways, I've been involved in affiliate marketing for about 6 years now, here a little bit about my background:
My first step into affiliate marketing was from a world of warcraft blog I started for fun, where I would post new valuable articles every day.. it'd literally take me 3 hours to write a thorough post (including research). I was getting about 6,000 visitors/day and over $2,200/month in income (after growing the site for 2 years).
I promoted strategy guides from clickbank and made about $20 per sale, and a little bit of adsense income.
I then quit my job and thought I "made it", but then I got lazy and assumed that my blog would kinda run on auto-pilot... fast forward to 7 months later looking for another 9-5 job.
The blog is still making me money but it's gone down to a trickle.. I've kind of abandoned the site since I am no longer interested in WoW.
Fast Forward to today
I work a 9-5 which is pretty decent, but now I'm taking a stab at the CPA game.
In the last month and a half I got into 4 affiliate networks. On my 2nd campaign promoting a dating offer on facebook I was getting an average of 50% ROI/day! Making $90 from $170 invested in clicks. a day. I thought I struck it rich, just needed to up my daily budget and was literally starting to think of when I could quit my job and all the things I could do with my profits.
After running this campaign successfully for 2 weeks, the offer suddenly expires on my network.. worst thing ever.. but I assume that if I could become that profitable from only my 2nd campaign I could surely find another one. Well the next day I try to advertise a more racy dating site (using non-sexual ad images) and then facebook disabled my ad account!
So here I am today.. not going to give up and keep on going. Going to experiment with POF advertising which looks to be super saturated, but that's what people said about facebook and I was able to get a successful campaign on there.
Anyways looking forward to contributing on this forum and getting involved with the community.
