Ultimately that's Jon's call, but my thought is: if we start implementing 24 hour bans for certain types of posts, then we open the floodgates for even more "unacceptable post types that result in bans and / or infractions" and it erodes the freedom of speech that Wickedfire is famous for.

I've had threads appear on my feed reader only to go there any find them deleted. I assume there is a good reason for it, but still...
