Question What's on your business cards?

Curious: What personal info do you include on your business cards for large networking events like ASE (or local events)?

IMO, name, website (ie. blog), and email is sufficient, but in getting feedback on my cards before getting them printed, people have been asking why I didn't include my phone, AIM, skype, and some sort of 'title.' I figure if I want someone to have my AIM name, I can just write it on there for them. I don't want a bazillion people IMing me... And I don't really have a title that is worth writing on there (though I suppose I could make one up).

What do you guys include on your cards?

PS. While trying to figure out what to include on there, I came across this thread. While some are impossibly impractical, there are some darn cool cards on there. Cool business card designs | creativebits

LOVE that. From here? Metal Business Cards

I also love the clear/frosted plastic ones. Very cool.

Mine has my name, title, company info and such. it's for design, so its not something i would hand out at an internet marketing related function.

Maz the Jew, that's a tight fucking card. How much do those run you?

Business card? what's that... seriously I tell people to write the info down they need if they want it. Then again I'm not a salesman or selling anything, and when I hand them out I just get spammed. A lot easier to say "Sorry don't have one"

What's on your business cards?
There's a smudged fingerprint that looks like it might be chocolate and a ring from a coffee cup. I don't really need business cards right now, just being a smartass.

I liked the examples on the site you linked to. I agree with your idea to make contact info minimal. If it's someone you care to share more with you can always write on the back. Too much info crammed on a card pisses me off. Makes me feel like the person giving it to me thinks they're way more important than they really are.

If your card is different, people will keep it. A very good salesman I used to know and had respect for told me to always hand someone three business cards. That way, when they speak to someone and you come to mind, they have extras to give them without giving away the only one they have. Since the guy was very successful, I thought it must be good advice.

I recall, a few years ago, getting a very unique card from someone. It was one of those folded cards and had the end part of a $20 printed on the outside, so it looked like a $20 folded in fourths and was custom cut to be the exact size of a folded $20 bill. Made out of paper that felt like money, too. All the business info was inside.

If you left it lying somewhere or dropped one on the ground, people would surely pick it up. If you have a business that could benefit from something viral like that it might be a good idea.

I've also seen small pads of business card sized Post-It notes with some space to write. That seems like a good viral tool, as well. People would use the notes and see your info over again or pass them on to others as sticky notes on stuff.

Sorry, I got a little carried away...

For conferences, I use this format:
Quote:
Name
What I do

Email address
Phone number

Company name
City
If anyone needs anything more than that, they can email me to ask. There's no need to include the traditional stuff like mailing address and fax number (I do have those things on the cards I show the border guards, though).

Instead of including a title like "President", I just put something like "Affiliate Marketer" under my name because that better identifies what I do.

Glossy is fine on the front, but try not to get a glossy finish on the back because it makes writing on the back of the card more difficult.

And speaking of business cards, I need to order a new set so I have some for Affiliate Summit!

Catt has a spectacular aura about
Does anyone use small photos of themselves on their cards? I am pretty sure that a pic helps with the follow up. Putting a face to your name, helps recall of conversation, people then more likely to contact you.

That metal card is well cool though, go with one of those and no need for a picture, bound to impress on it's own.

I don't have a picture, but I have a artist-drawn caricature kind of pic on mine (that I commissioned, so it does sort of look like me). I would feel weird with an actual picture, I think, though I can see how that would make cards more memorable.

Yeah, but I am so tired of people asking me for a card and not having one. That then leads into the whole business card conversation - why don't I have one, where they got theirs done easily and cheaply, how I should really get some done, etc. I figure if I just get some done I can avoid that conversation forever more.
