If you’ve noticed, I’ve just added the “Buy Me a Beer” plugin, which you’ve probably seen around on a few blogs. If bought a few people some beers, but its just been a kind of boring process. I mean, you buy them the beer, they get free money, and you may or may not get a backlink from the person. Chances are, they probably weren’t even thinking of you when they drank the beer you bought them, and you never saw them enjoy the beer. I’ve added the plugin to my blog, but with a new twist. For every $3 can of Coors Light beer that I get paid for, I will do the following things:

Actually purchase the beer and tape your name to it.
Film the act of me drinking said beer.
Give you a linkback on a post, dedicated to the beers that were bought for me.

I’m going to do one post every week with one video of me drinking all the beers that I am bought, regardless of the quantity. Each post will contain a link to everyone who bought me a beer, as well as the video of me drinking each and everyone, even if it takes me hours. At $3/beer, you could buy me 12 for $36 and probably get me tipsy. Who knows. At any rate, $3 is a fine price for a backlink on this blog, plus you get to enjoy a funny video of it too! Please comment if you have any suggestions/tips for me regarding this subject. Thanks, and BUY ME BEERS!

I've heard it was a stupid idea, some thought it was funny. Just wanted to know if anyone had some constructive criticism or anything they think would be cool for it.

[sorry I couldnt resist] But did you ok it with your mom since she'll have to be the one running down to the store to get it?

But again i think its a great twist and has some viral flare to it.

Three points:

You're definitely in high school
Increased Traffic = Alcoholism
Someone should buy 30 beers for you but hold it in escrow unless you finish them all in a 24-hour period. And, you have to drink them all in a live video webcast. No taking beers into the bathroom cause by beer 15 you'll be dumping them out.

This is definitely not a good idea. Filming an illegal act? And doing it every week, practically on a schedule? Don't be surprised if you're in the middle of setting up your camera when the cops knock on your door.
