I'm going to chime in here because this thread is relevant to my interests. My wife and I both work from home and have for over 2 years. She works for a small insurance company and has a pretty demanding job that keeps her very busy. We have separate offices that are not within ear shot of each other, which I think is a must. Before we had kids, we would both be in our offices most of the day, and we tried not to bother each other very often, so we could both be productive. This worked very well for us and we never had any issues. Now that we have 2 kids, I'll usually watch them in the mornings while she deals with her East Coast clients, and then I'll get some work done in the afternoon. We both respect the fact that each of us has a job to do, so we are mindful of that when the other is trying to get shit done.

If both of you are going to be working from home doing different jobs then I think having your own separate spaces is a must. If you need to contact each other during your work hours, use skype or an IM so you don't have to get up and walk to the others office. Sounds stupid but nothing destroys your workflow like leaving your desk to go ask her a question or vice versa. Have lunch together during the day or go out to lunch for a break from the house. Getting away from the house for some personal time will be even more important if you're both working at home. Even if you guys are doing your own work most of the day without too much contact, it will still start to feel like you don't have any personal time for yourself, so make sure to get out a couple times a week to do whatever you like to do.

All that being said, my wife and I were married for nearly 8 years before we both started working from home, so we had and have a very strong relationship. I can't say for certain how this would work with a girlfriend, but I dont' see any reason you can't give it a try and see how it goes.

if she is really good..get her some writing jobs first or even something like fiverr...just so she can see the realm of possibility out there.
lots of small jobs to be had for dependable people...custom blog posts...etc

Yeah, I'll second this - my wife and I work from home, and email stuff to each other if it needs doing. She spends all her time writing scientific papers, and I'm either on the phone, writing or coding so we both get pissed off at interruptions.

Also, both get out of the house at least once or twice a week. Otherwise you'll go crazy.

In my case, I was the wife - and I got it (been working online for 10 years/full time for 5). My ex was the 99 percent. He wanted to be "The Boss', but after we split, he's back at the day job. That was not the only thing that hurt our relationship, but was certainly a symptom.

Hi,

If you want her to work from home, I suggest you have her sign up on a work from home forum (nothing like Wicked Fire or any Internet Marketing Forum...). There are a lot of people that post to these forums, looking for contractors to do these jobs on a consistent basis, rather then just selling the services on here or some other IM forum... The good thing about them would be that you don't have to create a BST thread selling your services and competing with others that are offering the same services, in her case, Photshop, HTML, CSS, etc...

I will PM you a couple of work from home forums... Theres a few good ones out there...

You guys have some solid points here. Yeah we have separate offices, she works downstairs and I grind upstairs. I don't talk to her much in the day time since she's busy learning html/css and photoshop now, but will take your advice when i do.

I had a lil chat with her and asked her to work for me since i do am and i've always hated photoshop and web programming, and i'll pay her salaries, that's why i had her learn all in the first place anyway, and she seemed pretty happy about it.

I don't intend to teach her anything about AM now, at least not in the near future, gotta keep the real secrets to myself haha
