It does suck about losing her husband to Cancer on Christmas day though. Plus, she has to live with the fear of someone that broke into her home (which I know can be a very traumatic experience -- Someone broke into my car and I found it 2 days later and I was sick to my stomach and was scared to death! I couldn't imagine dealing with a suspect right then and there!!!), and the constant thought of killing someone.

Living in a world where everyone is packing means living in a world where everyone thinks twice before they whip out that piece. If you knew for sure that the consequences of a stupid argument might include getting your head shot off, you might not be so quick to start that argument.

The ideal world is a world where no one does shitty things to one another. Obviously, that world doesn't exist. So a world in which everyone has the means to quickly redress wrongs done to them seems like the best logical alternative.
