PRO INTERNET TIP: MFA sites have been around longer than most of you have known what Adsense is. They've also been doomed every 6 months since 2006.

It certainly seems that way. Then some people simply don't listen, adapt, and then bank.

This. See the way Bing removed all sites with "blackfriday" in their titles or domains and replaced them with their own promotions - and then afterwards when it was too late for those sites to make money, they quietly re-instated them.

Bing Bans Holiday Deals Sites, Including One By Group That Created Cyber Monday

If Google had done that all mayhem would have ensued. In my book, Microsoft is still way more evil than Google. And Yandex is owned by Russians and I wouldn't be surprised if they handed search data to Putin whenever he asks. So that leaves us with Google as the least worst option for now.

when people perform a search, they expect search results, whether they're paid or organic. that's clearly different from displaying ads on a content site.

erm, you don't think g or ms would hand over data if issued with a court order? besides, maybe putin could come out with a better keyword tool - Keyword KGB anyone?

Just entered in 6 different search terms into Bing/DuckDuckGo and got completely different results for all of them.

In Search Bing is still absolute horseshit compared to Google.

Looks like we're both wrong. They profited $2.7 billion last quarter. Their revenue was over $10 billion in Q4.

It uses Bing and several other sources including its own crawler. Then it uses an algorithm to combine the results to determine rankings.

I thought 2.7 billion sounded pretty weak.

I use DDG all the time. There are many scenarios where I search DDG, can't find what I'm looking for, then try Google and it is the first result.

I still use DDG a lot, but it is mostly useful for the bang searches and features like that.
