$40k seems like it's a bit high. I've heard figures closer to $10k-15k to book him for a show. But I'm sure he's also caking on merchandise.

I like his music... it's low-octane shit with good beats. I probably would have scoffed at the idea if you put his music in front of me a decade ago but I've become less of a hip hop snob. *shrug*
