Rule #1 when being attacked by a dog:

Go for the eyes or throat

Most people instinctively go for the mouth, trying to remove it from their body like this guy did. Instead he should have used his free hand to either:

a. Jab the dogs eye out with his thumb, if he doesn't mind hurting the animal.
b. Twist that collar he was holding onto until it cuts off the dogs air passage. The dog will either let go, or pass out. Win/Win.

Same goes for people attacking you too btw.

Actually it is best if you pull the dog to you and hold it tight so it cant shake. Except for pitbulls you should try to actually ram your arm into its mouth while holding the back of its head. The dog will feel like its choking and try to spit it out.

Same thing if someone has you by the hair or the shirt and is swinging you around and punching you. Clinch them and press your head against them. Dont leave space or you will get punched or head butted ect, lose your footing and fall down backwards.

If you have a water hose handy, you can spray the dog with it. Also works when you catch your mutt humping the neighbor's prize French poodle.

Fighting dogs tend to shake with excitement before going at it and once they charge they are pretty fucking savage. When they do charge their skulls crack together that hard that it'll spin them through the air and they'll just come back snapping with their jaw, which is why it's usually a blooodbath within a minute or so. They will fight to their death and are totally fearless. I know this video is likely not a fighting dog, but this type of breed can easily switch like this and sometimes going for the eyes or legs will just make them come at you more aggressively.

I have seen a pitbull dog hold on to a tire for like 5-10 + min. So I dont get what you some of you are on about lifting the dog :/ Take a brick/stone - Ask the camera man to get a knife - Get your Kill or Be Kill'd on!

I had a mean pit bull attack my dog before... Both males while a nearby bitch was in heat... They were at it for hours. (Mine was bigger but not a fighting breed.)

I tried water hoses. Even up the nose.
I tried beating the hell out of him with a broomstick. Every part of him wacked hard!
I tried poking at his eyes with the broomstick.
I tried strangling him, his neck muscles were too thick.
I tried cutting him with a knife. (Not too deep, just skin)
I tried pouring vinegar and lemon juice in the wounds.
I tried picking up his hind legs, but even lifting the entire weight of the dog he wouldn't let go and I couldn't handle the weight of both dogs.
I tried shooting his torso with a pellet gun. (The kind that breaks the skin)
I tried kicking his balls as hard as I could! (Always last resort for a guy to do)

I finally got him to stop by picking up a large (~15 lb) garden stone and repeatedly dropping it on the dog's skull. It must have taken 20 or so solid wacks. I was literally trying at one point but I could not succeed at crushing that dogs' skull in with that heavy stone. There was more muscle up there than bone anyway.

He was one tough fucker. I think I gave him a strong headache and after they'd been at it so long they both kind of fell away and limped off. I gained serious respect/fear for the breed afterwards when he lived through it all... And I don't think his owner even took him to the vet. (My dog's vet bill was huge...)

inb4 animal rights shit. The owner was present, did some of the things on that list himself. It was on my property and he didn't want to get sued.

tl:dr; Decapitation with a chainsaw might work. Other than that, large caliber weapons. Maybe a flamethrower.

If a dog bites you, you can try grabbing its 2 front legs and pulling them sideways, their joints arent designed to go that way and if you can pull hard enough their legs will snap at the shoulder joints... so i've heard anyways.

I can imagine this would be hard to do if the dog had you by the arm, though.

I had two pitbulls attack and kill a neighborhood cat that my neighbors and I take care of in November. By the time I came out they were still chewing on its neck.
