TL;DR Version...
I used to do BJJ/MMA and Krav Maga back in the early 2000's and I recently got back into top shape and plan on starting up again, I'd love to connect with some other guys who don't mind a little ground and pound while understanding what A/B testing is. I'm already friends w/ Greg Davis and know a few people through him like Irvin, but is there anyone else outthere? If it matters I used to be associated w/ American Top Team in SoFla in case we may have run in similar circles before. Hit me up bros! ![]()

Wanna know something about Krav Maga?
The synonym for it is "common sense" Attack the vulnerable areas as hard as you can as quickly as you can and counter as soon as you can to hit those areas using whatever methods of assault/weaponry you can ...Or what I like to call..."fighting" Don't believe in the hype, I've fucked up IDF and US military boys (my friends) who trained under military style KM Bruce Lee said it best, to paraphrase, don't let yourself be limited by a school of combat. martial arts is self expression, we're all different sizes/strength, so we all fight differently. Also, doctrine is the last refuge of the unimaginative, and the surest way to lose |

sigh...
To clarify: I gave you a theme for an article/new content while also subliminally suggesting you choose a topic that isn't so obtuse and convoluted and a waste of everyone's time that adds nothing as by your declaration of previous experience shows a lack of knowledge in the field in which you had previous experience. Best of fortune in...whatever it is you think you're doing |

All I said was that I'm getting back into amateur MMA fighting and wouldn't mind hooking up with like-minded individuals. Lack of experience? Okay bros... If I wanted to hear a Jeet Kune Do rant I would of went back to middle school. Lay off the kush bros.

You'll get nothing but hecklers and trolls posting about this topic here though. PM me if you're ever in the Toronto/London area. We get the who's who of MMA guys training with us -- in addition to Mark, Sam, and the two Chris'. |

Krav Maga and various hand-to-hand training while on active duty (close to 10 years since I got out...fuck I'm old)
Nothing since then. Use it or lose it and all, but hell, there's something to be said for being able to know how to not put myself and anyone with me in harm's way. Not trying to get into a "this discipline is better than all others!" discussion, but for "real life" scenarios krav maga is my discipline of choice simply because it's practical, swift, and you don't have to roll around on the ground/street/broken glass-littered alley to be effective at neutralizing the target and getting the fuck away from the danger. I just don't see the practical value in 99% of what I see in MMA (other than a great workout) but I do occasionally catch the fights. Looks fun, though. I'm much too relaxed (read: lazy) to get into it now. Just the gym and the track for me these days. |
