Lol they seem desperate for attention! All they've been doing is tweeting celebrities to the likes of @tiesto, @snoopdogg, @iamwill etc. and retweeting sites like TMZ!
Honestly speaking, it appears that a bunch of juveniles are handling their twitter account. @sexcom |

yeah that shit is just a TGP on steroids. seems like that domain has been plagued forever with no direction/strategy. I actually spoke on the phone with the then-sex.com owner Gary Kremen at least 10 years ago about design work or something, dude talked a mile a minute. but yeah, he sold it for $15 million in 2006, then sold sex.net for $454,500 the same year.

I'm still flabbergasted that the people who bought this most recently didn't have a better plan for it than this. Unreal.

Well it is good link bait as many will probably be comparing sex.com with pinterest in their posts. They will be either outraged or *insert feeling here*.. but they will talk about it and link to it.

mad as fuck

That domain name is worth more than $2million. I bet their organic traffic is > 50%.. Like a previous commenter suggested, millions of adolescent youths who get their first imac and type sex.com into the address bar are gonna soak their first tubesock on that site now.
In fact any 3 letter .com domain is worth at least 6 figures, and I don't imagine there are many more high profile ones than sex.com |

Automation, I has it.

This is only the natural progression since the site is entirely user-content driven now from other sites so they have very low overhead with many ways to monetize the site. Oh, and:

Site is cursed. Since I've ever known that you could buy domains, way back in the day, I've watched that site get sold and resold more than (insert some expletive here). Haven't ever heard of an owner making bank off that domain.
Maybe they're all stupid, I don't know. But, as an investor, I'd be hard pressed to purchase that domain unless it was for pennies on the dollar. People have tried everything with it... TGP, MGP, Link-list, etc. They ALWAYS end up selling. There's something wrong with it. |
